About Me

I was born 1957 and have seven siblings. Father was a rich man during the early stages of live. Things fell apart when I had almost completed my primary education because my father was jailed for ten years. Due to pressing family needs, my mother left home for the city to work and I had to take care of my brothers and sisters. Life was hard. I left school and searched for casual jobs to help feed them. Through this experience I learned how deeply hardships affect young children and I developed a passion for taking care of them. After ten years, I went back to school then to college.
My passion expanded when I took a four year Bachelor of Theology Degree.
While I have taught for quite some time, my interest in starting a business let to a tutorial service and a care center for babies. I have been in this business for one and half years now.
I work at Baraka Women’s Center Busia as Advisor of the Adult Education Program. My commitment to the program has been prompted by the struggles I had while growing up.
I reside in Busia. My dream for the future is to manage a fabulous care center affording each child a happy day of growing and learning.

My Business

I own a child care center where we take care of children between the ages of 1 and 4. The major challenge I face is that I do not have adequate toys for the children. Sometimes I lose clients because the parents decide to change their residence. I want to ensure that my child care center provides an environment conducive for children to learn and also enjoy themselves. My long-term goal is to turn my center into a kindergarten.
In a month i make profits of upto $ 200 which i use for my family needs and save atleast 20% of the profit monthly.

Loan Proposal

Handling children without essential resources for the facility has been a challenge to my business. A loan of 120,000 (about $120) together with my little savings will help purchase educational toys and enhance the comfort and safety of the environment with additional cots, storage bins and a cozy play area. With these im targeting an increased number of children and revenue.
-With increased revenue my live and family will be affected positively thus improving my livelyhood
