Life for me has been full of challenges since I was 3 years after the death of lovely father. My father died as a result of bullet from robbery who broke into our house and shot my daddy and stole most of the household items. My mother has worked hard to ensure my sister and I complete education. Over the weekend and school holidays my sister and I engaged in small business to raise money for part of our school fees. My mother has mentored me on how to successfully run a business thus after completing my college education I used the little savings I had to purchase one desktop which I used to start offering computer services to the residents of Kahawa Wendani which is just opposite kahawa barracks and people residing in our community are middle class. I have been in operation for 3 years and with the profit I have managed to buy 10 desktops which I am using to offer various computer services such as typing, internet, photocopy and printing.I have also started offering computer training whereby I have bought 4 desktops which I have dedicated for computer training in another room but I intend to purchase 6 more desktops to accommodate more trainees. Part of my profit is used for saving while the rest is used for expansion of the business because my dream is to operate a power house with various computer services and trainings as the demand is high because our country has become digital. During my free time I visit secondary schools in the community and offer business mentorship and importance of formal education to the students and now many young people look up on me as a role model.
My computer business started 3 years and it is based in Kahawa Wendani which is a fast moving estate which is occupied by young people from Kenyatta University and soldiers from Kahawa Barracks so the demand for computer services is high because they would like to connect with other people across the globe. I started with one desktop then 10 desktops offering typing, printing, photocopy and internet then I have started computer training with 4 desktops. I offer computer training at subsidized price as a form of giving back to the community but at the same time generating good profit. l intend to have 10 desktops for the training so that more people can be accommodated at once thereby more people acquiring the skills thus I intend to purchase extra desktops to realize my dream. The demand for computer services and training is overwhelming thus I am working hard to capitalize on the high demand by acquiring the right equipments to effectively offer the services. People like my business because has social enterprise concept and also the services are quality.
Kahawa Wendani is a fast growing place and is resided majorly by students from Kenyatta university and young soldiers from Kahawa barracks. I operate computer business which involves offering printing, photocopy and internet but I have been receiving request from local population to offer computer training which I have done for the last 3 months and now the demand is high thus I have purchased 4 computers and now want to purchase 2 more computers so that I can serve more clients by training them which will translate to high sales for my business I have some savings and with the Zidisha loan I plan to purchase 2 desktops P4 each at Kshs 10300 so in total I will spend Kshs 20600. I Kindly invite Zidisha lenders to consider my business and now the demand is more because the university is in session. Please support my business.
