About Me

Francis is my name and I am 38 years old. The third born among my siblings and I am married with three children. I was raised by my mum since my dad died when I was barely thirteen years old.

I had both basic and second cycle education at Berekum in the Brong Ahafo region. Both parents are natives of Berekum-Kato in the Bring Ahafo region. At a very early age I had to understand that, life is how you make it. Because of that, I needed to work hard to make it in life. This led me into so many businesses at an early age. I also realised that opportunities abound in all fields of endeavour but it takes the diligent to achieve an aim. I got introduced to pig farming about two years and a half ago.

My Business

I started my pig farm with three (3) piglets ( one male and two females). Currently, I have 25 pigs. I sold ten pigs so far to be able to feed and maintain the rest. In order to get healthy pigs, I need funds to continuously acquire nutritious feed to feed my pigs. I hope to grow and keep over 50 pigs which will be sold in batches at right time so that I can maximise profit.

Loan Proposal

For the daily growth and feed for the pigs, I need a financial assistance. In feeding my current 25 pigs, I spend no less than $40 a week on feeding, which amount to $160 a month. However, pigs must be well fed in order to mature witin six months. If feeding is not properly done, their maturity will delay. Roughly I will spend notless than $960 on my 25 pigs to mature in six month time. Preparing feed for 1 pig will cost not less than $48 in six months.

Pork is a delicacy for many folks in my area. But not many poeple are able to raise pigs due to lact of funds. Because of that supply is always in shot of demand.

After 6 months, depending on the weight, selling prize of each pig is between $150 to $ 350.

The loan will help me to prlpey feed the pigs, which will increase my profit margin.

The increase profit margin will help me to cater for myfamily and also employ more hands in the business.
