i am the first born in our family .of eight members i was born in 1990i studied up to o level certificate then joined a training in machine maintanance i am employed at petrol oil k limited i work in the field outreach. my family members parents depend on mixed farming hence i have to support my young ones behind me with fees .besides supporting my small family .i decided therefore to begin business so that i could get enough besides my salary the business iam doing has helped me so much to educate my young bros and sisters.my business has taken 4 years now and i have a vision of geting more tenders and supplying more maize to schools since my public relation is very good with the schools around my target in future is to buy a lorry and supply maize using my own transport that will reduce the cost of production . this business is flexible it helps me work at the same time do the business i am married with one wife and i stay in siaya town my purchases include buying food clothes paying rent for the business restocking the maize from kitale and a ssiting my parents at home

my business proposal;my business deals with supplying maize to 3 schools in siaya county . i have done this business for the last 4 years now my customers prefer me so much they normaly call me to supply maize at any time hence iam very reliable.i normaly buy maize in large number during harvesting time in kitale and then i bring to siaya in the schools that have given me tender the balance i sell localy to the residents in small tins i have a boy that does for me the selling since i have a store in the town the demand for maize is very high since that is the staple food in nyanza which they use to make favourite food known as ugali. my sells are on termly basis i supply maize per term i have 3 schools in siaya which i supply (1) township (secondary school(2) obambo secondary school (3) baradong boarding school my sells are in township i supply 50 sacks of maize per term in obambo 30 sacks of maize per term in baradong 50 sacks of maize per term . i buy the maize at 1500/= @ sack and sell at 3500/=per sack pay transport for the lorry which ipay per trip 20000/= i get only one trip . after selling the 130 sacks i get 2000/= wich is about 23US DOLLARS PROFIT PER SACK PROFIT FOR 130 SACKS IS 130X 2000/= WHICH GIVES ME 3095US DOLLARS GROSS INCOME FOR 3 MONTHS .MONTHLY GROSS INCOME IS 66000/= KSH WHICH IS 785US DOLLARS NET . MY COSTS ARE TRANSPORT 20000/= ,RENT SALARY ,LICENCE AFTER THE DEDUCTIONS MY NET MONTHLY INCOME IS 22000/= THIS IS WHAT I USE TO SUPLLEMENT MY FAMILY BY BUYING FOOD CLOTHING ON TOP OF MY SALARY THIS IS WHAT I WILL USE TO PAY MY LOAN MY PROFIT THEREFORE NET IN DOLLARS MONTHLY IS 262US DOLLARS AFTER DEDUCTIONS.MY RISKS ARE POOR ROADS WHEN I GO TO THE VILLAGES POOR HARVEST WHICH AFFECT PRICES I WANT TO USE THE LOAN I GET TO SUPPLY MAIZE TO ANEW BOARDING SCHOOL AROUND ITS A PRIVATE SCHOOL AND THE DIRECTOR IS MY FRIEND THANK YOU

I WILL USE THE LOAN TO PURCHASE MAIZE FROM FARMERS AND SUPPLY TO A NEW SCHOOL THAT HAS GIVEN ME AN ORDER. THE LOAN WILL HELP ME DELIVER THE MAIZE ON THE ACTUAL DATE THAT WE AGREED THUS TRUSTWORTHY IN THE BUSINESS. THIS WILL INCREASE MY INCOME BY AROUND 20% OF THE CURRENT INCOME. SINCE SHOOLS ARE CLOSING IN THE MONTH OF APRIL, I WILL HAVE A FRESH ORDER FROM THE SAME EXTRA SCHOOL THAT I WILL HAVE SUPPLIED THE MAIZE HENCE MY BUSINESS WILL HAVE EXPANDED.
