during my childhood , i used to sty with my mum in the kitchen . and that gave me an interest in cooking . some times i used to visit my uncle in Mumias town where he ran a restaurant . From there i developed an intrest in making snacks. when i came to Nairobi my fist employment was in a snacks manufacturing company but now a bit different , the snacks were of the indian origin which is abit improvised and durable. people in my country, especialy low income earners are used to [chapatis and mandazis] in the first place they never used to like my snacks as time went by they are getting used to my products thus giving me an advantage. when our company reduced employees due to what they termed as drastick fall in their business i was one of the people who received termination latters and i decided to start my own business .
I make and sale snacks like potato crisps, banana crisps roast\fry peanuts and other snacks of the Indian origin. the snacks i make are in demand to low income earners because they have been initialy sold in supermarkets and malls but turget is low incom earners . i chose this business because it is unique and typical cost is a round khs 8000 to buy the products and the revenue that comes out after sale is round ksh12000 the revenue earned is usually used in paing school fees for my son , house rent and reinvestment in growing the business
when i get this loan, i intent to use ks. 4000 to buy a sealing machine, for i have been using a candle to seal my products. so i be-leave this machine will enable me to do quicker sealing hence more production. I will use 2000 to buy a standard weighing scale to make my work more faster and convenient, 3000 to design and make labels to make my products more attractive to buyers the rest of the money . This will improve my living standard and and that of my family and with the expected profit increase , i intend to employ two people in the near future ,which i think will be a job opportunity for others . The profit will increase from the current Ks. 8000 to Ks.15000 and above which i think is a good grouth and in the near future i will be moving to a better house for my business
