About Me

Im Pheobe Amukune a young lovely and energetic lady . i was brought up in a family of 5 children's, 4 girls and 1 boy.. I went to primary school up to standard 8 that's when i did my kenya certificate of primary education. i did fairly well and i was able to joint Nakuru secondary school and i did my kenya secondary school certificate.. due to high college fees i didn't make it it to joint as my family as to depend on our little portion of land to feed and educate the 5 of us. i joint public polytechnic where i learn about Information Technology (IT) and computer packages. I always dreamt of being my own boss someday and I opted to hasten the process. What worried me most was whether I would still earn as much money as those people employed. But through patience and persistence i have managed to go far in life and i'm still looking ahead for a brighter future

My Business

I have ventured into poultry keeping. I started making ice-cream from my father's house and selling it to school-going children. I got a little cash and added it to what I was earning.
After a few months, i managed to raise $200 and was ready for take off. I had no formal training in poultry keeping, but had the urge to make money and that is what has seen me thrive. I had done little research and realised that our locals from the village i reside import poultry products such as eggs from neighbouring counties. I knew that there was money in this venture.
I started with 50 day-old layer chicks costing $1 each and converted one of the room in our house the birds. After five weeks, the broilers were ready for the market while layers took between four to five months to start laying eggs. Soon i moved the chicken from the room in my father's house to a structure that could accommodate 100 chicks. I used local materials, wire mesh and iron sheets. I have a total of 50 chicks—25 broilers and 25 layers.
I get at least $100 every month broilers which costs $4 each.
I collect close to 3 crates of eggs every day with a crate selling at $3, With these profits i use to buy vaccination for the birds and cater for my needs

Loan Proposal

When Granted the loan by Zidisha, ill add up USD 189 which i've been saving and purchase a new Epson Printer which sells between USD 277 -USD 333. The Printer will improve my work and enable me to save and pay the loan in time ill be expecting a profit of atleast USD 6 a day therefore meeting my days expenses rent, assistant worker and electricity of the place will be easier.

Phoebe's loan proposal was one of the most clear and convincing on Zidisha. She kept in touch and repaid ahead of schedule. I am happy to contribute to her next loan. We'll done and good luck!
