About Me

I was born in a family of eight children and I am the 5th born. I am now the only surviving child of my late parents. We grew up in a very poor family and my father was a peasant farmer.

My father was a staunch Catholic believer, yet I opted from the family religion to worship in a charismatic, pentecostal Church in which today I am a pastor of Kenya Assemblies of God in Mbita Town of Homa County. I am also engaged in small-scale commercial farming. My farm is in dire need of farm tools.

My Business

Kogwela Farm is in a very strategic location in the island of Rusinga Island. If I can get a loan, then the farm will flourish. I intend to grow potatoes, maize, carrots, onions, tomatoes and beans. The farm is situated in Waregi Village of Mbita Sub-County, it's an urban center, and with this strategic location, the farm will be able to fetch a good sales from the farm.

I have been involved in small-scale farming for the last 2 years. Farming in the shores of Lake Victoria is unexploited sector.

Loan Proposal

The loan amount of Ksh 9,034 will be used to buy seedlings of; kale, cabbages, tomatoes, onions and carrots to be planted at the farm in Rusinga Island, Lake Victoria, Kenya. Part of the loan will be used to buy a wheel-barrow to carry manure to the farm.

With the right tools and good seedlings. The farm will be able to generate enough food for my family and surplus will be sold to enable the family meet other costs of living.

The 1st loan from ZIDISHA of KES 8,130 helped to by farm tools like; wheelbarrow, fork jembe, spade, water can and I planted carrots that are doing very well and am soon harvesting for sale in a couple of weeks. I need a 2nd loan of KES 25,000 from ZIDISHA to enable me buy seeds and pesticides to enable me plant in good time especially now that the rains have started for planting season.
