About Me

My names are Sospeter Kihiu, 35 years old from Kenya. I reside in Kamwangi Estate approximately 20km west of Thika town. I am happily married with three children, first born is in class 6, second born in class 4 and third born is now 8 months old. After completing high school I was employed in a company that buys eggs and milk from farmers and sell it to wholesaler in Thika town and Nairobi City. In that company my job was to collect those products from farmers and distribute to wholesalers using the company car. I remained royal and honesty in that company and I observed keenly how that business is being run and that enabled me gain skills and knowledge about it. Having worked for along time in that company I gained more experience which prompted me to start my own business. Through my savings from my previous employment I was able to start a milk bar in my town. The profit from my business has been able to feed my family, pay school fees for my children and of course bought me 2 dairy cows. It has been my dream to supply milk to wholesalers and consumers in urban areas though the capital has not been enough. Am therefore looking forward to secure loans to Zidisha which will make me realize my dream.

My Business

I am operating a milk bar in my town; I managed to start this business through little savings that I made from my previous employment. Customers like my milk because of its quality and good services I offer them and reasonable price which has made me maintain a large number of customers. I manage to sell approximately 70 liters of milk everyday. 40 liters of milk I get direct from my farm since I have kept 2 dairy cows and this has increased my profit margin with 50%. The other 30 liters I buy from farmers who sell a liter at 0.4 dollars and I sell it to consumers at 0.7 dollars hence making profit of 0.3 dollars. In case I get additional capital I would increase quantity of milk and this would make me serve a large number of customers and increase my profit margin to a good percentage, the same capital would enable me start buying milk in bulk from farmers and supply it to wholesalers and consumers within Thika town and Nairobi city.

Loan Proposal

Hello Zidisha lenders I am grateful for accepting me as Zidisha borrower, my business entails selling of raw and boiled milk to consumers. It has been my dream to buy milk in large quantity direct from farmers and supply it to wholesalers and consumers in urban towns, am therefore requesting for funding from Zidisha which will enable me start this venture.
Once I am granted this loan i intend to use it as follows:-
1). Purchase of milk collecting Equipments which will cost approximately 40 dollars.
2). Purchase of 100 liters which will cost approximately 40 dollars.
3). The remaining 20 dollars will cater for miscellaneous such as transport and Municipal council fees.
Thank in advance for funding my project. Blessings forever
