About Me

I am a third born child in a family of seven, four boys and three sisters.. I went to bungoma day school for my nursery education and latter joined bungoma boys high school upto form four where I sat for my Kenya certificate of secondary education in 2006. In the year 2008 I joined moi University for my bachelor's education and graduated with a degree in social sciences. I tarmacked for a whole year before I started poultry farming in the year 2010 with aim to rear layers to supply eggs in Bungoma and outskirt towns. My venture into poultry for layers was overtaken by demand for chicken which is a delicacy in the western region. I decided to increase chickens for meet and went slow on layers.

My Business

I do hatch 1000 indigenous chicks monthly. I sale a day old chiks at 1 us dollars, a week old at 15 usd and mature ones at 50 usd. After doing research I improved my breed which is now high yielding and matures faster with advantages such as highly resistance to diseases. I also bought two incubators to boost production of chicks. Business is my choice because of increasing demand for white meat.
I incur on purchase of feeds and salary for my two employees. Studies show eating three whole eggs per day is safe. Eggs contains nutrients which is good for the body.

Project Proposal

A budget of 900 usd to buy poultry incubator at 700us dollars and spend 20 us dollars on poultry feeds.
This will help boost production hence make more profit.
