My name is Janet Mwanzia, I grew up in Kisii County Nyamache Village. I went to primary and secondary school in the same area. It was nice growing up in the village with my parents siblings and step-brothers and sisters. When we weren't in school we helped in working the farm. We did have challenges but they were the normal challenges.
I later moved to the capital city of Eldoret after receiving my diploma from secondary school. That is where I met my husband in 2011, we are married and blessed with a baby boy.
I see a very bright future and I want to take a course in some basic ICT training.
I believe in working with the community to improve the lives of others. I was very instrumental in the starting of a merry go round financial group that I participate in. This has helped me and the other women members to expand their small businesses to a point to sustain their families.
My business is that of buying second hand shoes which I sell on the street in Eldoret in an area which is allocated for informal sellers by the county government. I started in 2013 and I have been improving the business to increase revenue since that time. In a good month i make profits of upto $ 120 which i use to imncrease the stock in my business and cater for my family needs.
The biggest challenge so far is the fact that my stock is quite small considering form one intake next month, and the fact that we operate in an open air place is an added challenge.
I want to increase my stock with better quality merchandise with more variety of shoes putting in mind that there is form one intake starting next month. The increase of inventory will attract and retain customers which will increase sales and revenue which will help me to provide for my family. Together with my savings this may cost me around $170. I look forward for a good business.
My business will be impacted very positively and in the long run it will be self sustaining. My life will for sure change for the better as this loan will lead to better return for me and my family
