About Me

I am Lucy Kamau. I went to high school at Langa Langa Secondary School in Nakuru am born in a family of four. My siblings and i have been brought up in abject poverty and i am determined to see them through school with hard work and determination. Therefore i have taken up the responsibility of educating my two younger siblings through my mobile Hair dressing and beauty business.
I did a certificate course in Hair dressing at Mwangaza college and since its my passion once i cleared school i started practicing it.
My brother and sister would like to be a pilot and a nurse respectively. I wish to make their dreams come true.
In my free time i love experimenting ideas on agriculture matters eg planting maybe spring onions coriander in recycled cans of soda or other plastic jars. I also enjoy singing helps relieve stress ☺

My Business

Coming from a humble background putting up a business has not been easy. I have been doing House calls since i did not have enough capital to rent a salon or buy equipments. I go to a clients home or business eg make their Hair nails or do general make up.
This is a lucrative business with good return. Being in the 21st century grooming and appearance is everything plus the market is vast therefore with a competitive advantage i will make it . In a day the costs i incurr are mainly transport costs.
So far i have saved up enough to rent a shop and set up the business as i have most the basic things like make up kits beauty products and such.
With the Zidisha Loan i will get pedicure gel ultra violet machine. This will give me a competitive advantage.
The profits i get i buy more beauty products and also pay my siblings fees. Mostly the costs i incurr is transport from one place to another to meet the clients. With the equipments i expect my profits to go up by about 60% since i can handle multiple clients at a time this saving time also.

With the loan of $80 from Zidisha i will be able to acquire get polish Ultraviolet gel application machine @$30 and $50 will get 2 Hair blowdriers for my salon
Having these equipments will help me serve more clients at ago and also improve the quality of my services and be able to attract more clients. I expect profit margin to go up by 60%.
