I grew up in Kisumu county, Nyanza and life was really tough on my side since our poverty level was high. I managed to finish my primary education but did not progress to high school. I really felt bad since most of my friends proceeded to high school but I swore to my-self not to allow my past to determine my future that is why I struggled hard to be where I am today.
My dream is to own hectares of land and plant trees on them since the profits are high and the expenses are very inimical.
I buy variety of tree seeds, and plant them in my nursery as seedling for sell. I started the business due to lack of competition and the knowledge and skills that I had .My biggest challenge is lack of enough water since the river is far from my farm ,and lack of enough materials to increase on variety of tree seedlings.
My customers are individuals, institutions, churches, hotels and currently the county government. In a good month I make profits of upto $160 which I use to buy more tree seedlings and the rest cater for my family needs.
My dream is to expand my business by introducing flowers and to own large farm of tree plantations.
From my business I have managed to grow from nowhere to somewhere, providing for my family with their necessities.
I will use the Zidisha loan to purchase a water pump so as avoid wastage of my seedling during this hot seasons and also add up my seedlings and materials to be used. This will cost me aroun $ 150. My profits will increase since I will make more sells and avoid wastage and expenses of employing someone to do the watering. My business will grow since my supply will definitely increase with the purchase.
My family will have a comfortable life and my children will have a better life than mine.
