I am the third born in a family of six. My family is from Homabay County. I have a diploma in business management. Currently I am running a business of selling second hand clothes. My area of residence is in Nairobi Eastlands, Kayole which is densely populated and as such a good place to sell clothes, handbags, shoes and jewellery. I started this business because I like the fashion industry. I also have the passion of earning income which can help me save and invest. The earnings I get from my business, part go to savings while the rest go to restocking. I would like to purchase a variety of things to go hand in hand with clothes like shoes, handbags and jewelry
I run a general shop dealing with selling of used bags and clothes, with a total monthly income of around 190 dollars out of which 80 dollars is profit. I am advantaged to operate in an area with high population and a high demand for basic commodities and low competition. I always ensure excellent customer relations and also I provide these clothes and bags at very fair prices therefore ensuring that I maintain my customers. Expenses in my business include rent, electricity that take up to 60dollars. I also restock every month the commodities that include school bags, used clothes, ladies bags among others. The risks the business faces include price fluctuations and changes in customer demands. These are handled by buying stock in bulk when prices are fair to avoid very high prices that in turn affect customers and buying commodities that customers need at different times respectively. In the area where my business is located there is in need of second hand clothes due to it’s cheap prices compared to new clothes. I get the supplies from Dandora market which is in Nairobi. The clothes are imported from various countries and especially the west countries. I usually choose the items depending on the season. On cold spells I choose to sell heavy jackets on rainy season, I sell t-shirts and light women tops during sunny seasons. My customers prefer to buy from me because my clothes are cheaper and affordable. I usually buy my bales from direct importers in the city of Nairobi where they are cheaper. This makes me to give them at a better bargain. In a week, I normally sell two bales. From the sales I do manage to get Ksh.8,500 as the net profit. The only challenge my business faces is lack of enough capital to stock better and quality products but with the Zidisha platform I will be able to overcome all this obstacles and I will be able to make more sales. It is my earnest prayers that my business will be considered and funded for the second time.Thank you
today, people are looking on how they can save money in all ways. This is where I saw an opportunity of buying classy used hand bags and dresses then reselling them at an affordable price. These are dresses for all occasions, office, parties etc. It is for this reason that I am requesting for a loan of to be able to restock my already started business of selling second hand dresses. It will give an opportunity to people who would like to look good without having to cough up so much money. Its a good business and am hoping to move mountains.
