About Me

I was born and raised in Usenge,my father was a bicycle repairer but later on he quit that job to venture into small-scale farming,my mother was and is still a housewife who at times do some odd jobs to subsidise whatever dad brings home.I went to a village primary school called Sanda where I did my KCPE in the year 2002 then proceeded to Ramba High School where I did my KCSE, in the year 2009 I joined Egerton University where I graduated with 2nd class honours in Bsc Biochemistry in 2013.During my undergraduate I was a student leader in various categories, the highest position I held was The Faculty Congress of Science representing all faculty of Science students in the Student's Union 2012/2013 and I was honored for my role in organising class representative trainings in the Deans List of Honor of Excemplary Service. I am currently pursuing Msc in Biomedical science specialising in Microbiology in Jaramogi Oginga Odinga university of science and technology. There was a time when I nearly dropped out of high school in form three due to serious fee problem but am glad my dad was able to lend money from friends to keep me in school thereafter he started pig farming together with my elder brother and was such a big step that ensured I finished high school. I came to start my farming business last year to raise my post graduate fees in addition to that I have had passion for agriculture since childhood and I decided to turn my passion into business. The land in Mageta island where I reside is very fertile with higher productivity and more so closer to water source which makes agriculture viable and thriving. My unique hobby is reading motivational book and am currently reading "In your hands hold your future" By Erick Opingo and "Youth inspiration to success" By Edward Okinda, I have also read a number of business books among the Rich man mind. I am currently staying in Mageta island, waka waka beach.
From kisumu, you board a vehicle to usenge beach from the main kisumu bus terminus. From usenge beach, take a boat or ferry to Mageta island and alight at waka waka beach. My house is 3 blocks from the beach and its the newest permanent house. Its a grey coloured rental house.

My Business

I grow vegetables on an open field,I mostly grow tomatoes, collards and some traditional vegetables such as managu, these goods are of demand since most of the agricultural produce that is supplied in home county come from far counties such as Nakuru,Uasin Gishu,Kisii just to mention but a few, this is due to the fact that most of the people from my county are fishermen. I chose this kind of business since I was raised up by a farming father,I also went to a university that is well known for its agricultural contribution in Kenya(Egerton) this also motivated me to venture into farming. Modern farming needs proper funding, I invest around KES15000 to get KES45000. I have so far done two planting seasons and the profits I got from the same I have plough end some of it back into the business, I bought a 7 horse power water pump last year in September that did cost me KES35000. I bought PVC pipes worth USD154 using the loan that was awarded to me by Zidisha inc in February. The loan awarded to me was USD 150.39

Loan Proposal

I intend to use the loan to purchase 20 PVC pipes each costing 7.7 USD this will amount to 154 USD.This will enable me to irrigate my farm which is about 300 metres from the water source, with this I will be able to double my yield especially in tomatoes which require a lot of water during the fruiting stage, in addition, it will also save me the energy of drawing water manually. My profit margin will also increase from 100USD to 150USD after the yield. I hope the loan will also most likely help me scale up my production as I can diversify to other horticultural crops since pumping water will no longer be a bigger issue.

Thank you so much my lenders for the funding. As I stated, am going to put a pigstry for my piglets. A good pigstry will in turn give my piglets good environment that will improve their health in a way because they have not been in a good place because it has also been raining and affecting them. Thank you so much zidisha.

Hi to all my lenders, am really worried with the pace at which you are funding my loan, am already incurring losses due to the heavy rains that have so far swept part of my tomato farm to the lake, so my alternative source of income that could have offered me additional finance to erect my pigsty is lost to a greater extent and I had hoped the loan you would advance to me could have really come in handy to the rescue of my piglets. If it's possible then please find it in your hearts to support. Thank you all

Hello to all my lenders, mine is just to request you to fund my loan since the one you funded initially was rejected due to some confusions that arose in the final step of disbursement. This loan is very important to me especially at this time when it heavily raining and it's necessary to offer my piglets an appropriate shelter to save them the adverse weather which is likely to cause them diseases and in the worst case scenario death. I just want to hope that you're gonna help me out. Thanks
