About Me

I am a 24 year old male Kenyan citizen. I am the first born in a family of three. My home is located along the Southern By pass next to Membly Administration Police Post in Kahawa West, Nairobi.
The directions to my place are: From Nairobi Central Business District, take a public service vehicle route number 44.
Alight at it'd final destination which is Kahawa West near Membly Administration Police Post.
My House Number is D14 Plot Number 4870.
I am a fifth year from Technical University of Kenya pursuing a Bachelors Degree in Electrical and Electronics, Power Systems Option.
I started my rabbits and chicken business after I cleared high school. I began with two rabbits, a male and female,a hen and a cockerel. I choose to start the business since I did Agriculture as a subject in high school and learnt the basic knowledge and skills of how to rear the animals effectively and how I could make it a business.
Right now I have 15 rabbits and 20 chicks after having sold some late last year during the festive season. Business was booming as then white meat was on higher demand, unlike now though still the market is friendly.
Apart from being a rabbit and chicken farmer and a student, I am also a member of the Kenya Blood Transfusion service whereby I donate blood occasionally once in four months. This is my way of giving back to the community what it has invested in me through my education and business.

My Business

The source of income is my business which as I mentioned earlier deals with Rabbits and Chicken farming.
I just don't take my business as a profit venture but also a passion and I ensure that my animals are of good health and clean. Apart from that, I ensure I give them the best vaccination against diseases to curb a disaster that once happened to me in my early stages when neary all my animals died as a result of a disease outbreak and I had not vaccinated them.
Customers prefer my animals over my competitors because they know I ensure quality standards. I clean the animal houses daily and ensure that the animals have water and good quality food. This makes the meat and or eggs be of high quality and safe for human consumption. I have actually been called on various platforms to enlighten farmers on good practices involving rearing of rabbits and chicken.
In a month, I make a profit of Ksh. 10,000 which has so far enabled me enroll in Kenya Institute of Management, where I pursued a certificate in business management. This is alongside enabled me cater for my University education.

Loan Proposal

I will use the loan granted by you to improve the rabbit and poultry house. Rabbits and chicken require proper houses to keep them away from cold that adversely affects their health. I will improve the house by ensuring it's suited with better timber and roofing that was previously leaking. This will cost me Ksh. 8,000 which is approximately equivalent to around $95.
I will also purchase the feed stuff for both rabbits and chicken. For rabbits to grow healthy and strong, they require good feed and water. This applies also to chicken for them to produce healthy eggs. I will purchase for each breed of pet,i.e rabbits and chickens respectively, feed worth Ksh.2,500. Together this will be Ksh. 5000, which is approximately $ 60. I will have to top up some extra dollars for the same.
