About Me

Am Erick chaulo the first born in a family of six, four girls and one brother who happens to be the last born,i was born in 1989 stayed with both parents in the village untill i lost my dad ni 2004 at class eight,my mum was jobless and that made my secondary education depend on sponsorship,at in 2008 i dropped out of school at form four due to lack of school fees but i endured did odd jobs and raise some money then enrolled in a day school around the shores of lake victoria.during this tym i rode bodaboda motorbike for upkeep and part of school fees.I sat for kcse in 2010 and went to kisumu again i search of odd jobs then later to Nairobi where i met BRIAN WAKALO who would later tell me about zidisha,in Nairobi it was never easy but i thank God i was able to send money home for my siblings and ailling mum.sadly i lost her in 2013 and i had to return back hometo take care of my half brother and sister both who to date are still in pre school.i did matatu business for sometime as a tout then in 2014 i started making and selling bricks that has enabled me to pay for my sister vida whom my mum passed away when she was in form one but is currently sitting for her kcse exams,i was able to start a cyber cafe business and enrolled for an ict course at Rongo university college and am graduating on 2cnd December.circumstances forced me to marry in 2014 and i have a son rolex now.my wife has been very supportive and helps me in taking care of the business and my younger siblings since my two follower sisters have since married.

My Business

my business started as a cyber cafe with four second hand computers i managed to buy from the proceeds i got from sale of bricks in early 2014.in late 2015 i got a biger shop and decided to incorporate mpesa and kcb agency i was able to get a loan from kcb which all complete servising in february 2017.early this year i had to close down my mpesa agency because i was doing my second year exams and my sister is in form four too and i had to clear fees.the kcb agency am still operating and i have incoporated a retail shop which my wife operates from the front as i use the back door for cyber.i decided to start the retailshop business since there was high demand for such as the nearest is arout 300m away.and it has never dissapointed,as am able to feed my family through the proceeds thus commission from kcb agency remains intact.my friend Brian wakalo who is a beneficiary of zidisha runs a tshirt printing business in Nairobi and as there is high demand for printed tshirts in rongo by youth groups i have decided to tap into this and i went for the first consignment in nairobi.Am also in the process of patnering with other two friends to open an IT school SMARTECH TECHNOLOGIES and hopefully will start on monday as everything is in place and we are targeting form four leavers who are clearing exams on 28/11/2016 as Our first clients for computer packages training.I also have a poultry farm with currently 100 birds,am hopping to make good money during this holiday festivities as demand for chicken is often very high then all revive my mpesa agency in january.
