Hi, I'm a Young entrepreneur that makes metal products. I assemble gates, windows and metal doors. i started the business about two years ago and we only had one welding machine that we got a grant from the government youth fund. luckily our business picked up quickly and we were able to repay the loan in time. sadly the government grants are sadly filled with a lot of bureaucracy thus our swift growth projection has been hampered and we grow slowly but surely. I was born and raised in Nyeri. I got my technician certificate back in thika technical in 2012. Through crowd funding i got money to start my current business. and so far so good, i am able to provide for my family. I would love for my kids to go to the best universities in the country when they grow up. I love traveling up country to see my parents when i get the opportunity to do so.
make metal products for clients mainly gates, doors and windows. In my locality this products are in high demand and i design my own products or get specifications from clients on what they want. What makes me unique is that i went to school to know how to make the products in comparison to my competitors that only learnt from others on how to make the best quality. I source raw products from the local market or hardware's. then mend them according to the clients needs. i mend the either at my workshop and/or at the site. most of my profits go towards paying fee for my young siblings, two who are in high school presently.
i am hoping to get funding to buy an extra welding machine to be able to keep up with work demand. lately i have been loosing clients since my machine cant handle all the work i get especially in peak seasons. And i would never want to destroy my reputation by building sub standard products since i get most of my clients through referrals. the welding machine will also bring on board an extra part time employee or two to help out in the work. the welding machine i need will cost approximately 700 dollars. I can recoup this from profits of making six major gates and according to my projection with demand in just 7 months. from then on the machine will be making profits to expand my business.
