About Me
My name is Naserian Mapelu. I have been blogging for close to 8 years now. Until One and a Half years ago, i have been doing it on my own, using my laptop and modem at home. My earnings come entirely from my online business mostly about article writing, data entry and transcription services. Last year in August i decided to empower stay-at-home moms and the youths by introducing them to online jobs. So far i have managed to train over 60 stay-at-home moms, most of whom have already started earning lots and lots of money, and becoming self-empowered.... Thus my source of income also comes from the regular trainings that i hold... my hobbies, i love writting, a lot, i love watching movies and i love helping the less fortunate in the society.... I am a mother to the most beautiful baby in the world... yes, am yet to find anything as cute as my butu :)
My Business
One of my other side hustles for the past one and a half years has been farming. I do farm potatoes back in the village in Narok County for commercial purposes. I currently have 7 acres of potatoes which are due harvesting in two weeks time. An acre of potatoes will cost me about $60 to lease out for a year, the seedlings to plant will cost me around $150 and labor plus tractor will cost me around $200. The good thing with potatoes is they take only 3 months in the farm, so when all else remains constant i.e. whether etc, i will have three planting seasons in a year. On average, an acre of potato will produce 50-70 bags, on the lowest side 50 bags and on the highest side sometimes up to 110 bags. A bag goes for between $30-$50 depending on the prevailing market price as well as the demand and supply of the same.
Loan Proposal
Again i take this earliest opportunity to thank all those who believed in my first proposal and funded my purchase of the first computer. I got a very nice piece that costed around $175 the complete set. My next venture is to purchase the second computer for the same price range and a second hand desk that will use for the computer. The desk goes for around $75 - $85. With my experience from the previous purchase, i had to do like 2 shifts, one in the morning and the other one in the afternoon so i can accomodate two/three people at a time. I believe with several computers i can be able to have more than one person coming in for the training. The training has really picked up, the past 2 months i have had over 10 people coming in, some of whom have already started earning. My highest earning student for this period was Alice who got $354 in 3 weeks. Will be posting her review on my blog www.naserianmapelu.com. I have also started training people in social media marketing, which is my next venture from January 2015 where i would want to target SME's to outsource to my company for their social media marketing needs.
