About Me

Im Damaris Mecha, 34 years old, single mum of 3 children aged, 11, 8 and 4years Diploma holder in IT from Jkuat working with a clearing and forwading firm in mombasa for 7 years now. Im also a business lady dealing with men clothes and second hand packaging materials like paper sacks and polybags which i supply to my clients here in mombasa and kitale county where i originally come from to supplement my monthly income. With the earnings from my business which i started as a part time one, i have managed to rent a stall at Majengo in mombasa which acts as a store and a retail place for my goods.

My Business

Im employed on a permanent basis with a monthly salary, from this im able to cater for the needs of my family, the clothes generates not less than 15,000 profit monthly depending on their quality and the season since i do sell my clothes to my fellow staff mates at work and on most online sokos and their uniqueness and quality since most employed people have less time to go and look for some items. My men clients prefer my products because of the price which is slightly lower because they come from turkey thus making them not easily available to my competitors here in kenya but just a few. I have a good client base back at home since they mostly rely on me to supply them with the packaging materials especially the harvesting season which i do get them here from the warehouses at Ksh15 and resell each at Ksh40, while the papersacks i buy at Ksh 15 and resell at Ksh23 per bag. I have a business deal with one exporting company of tea where i do get the used papersacks after they have blended their teas and in a day i can make a profit of upto Ksh12,000 or even more , the only challenge in this is that its not a daily business since it depends on the volume of teas they want to blend and ship, and the climate change which has really affected the tea pricing and its business at large but its good thing is that there are always ready market for them especially now that they are very scarce . For the stall i pay Khs5,000 rent monthly, salary of Ksh 4,000 for my house assistant and power not exceeding Ksh400. My first loan assisted me to open a small stall back in kitale for my polybags for retail selling and also storage where by I have been able to buy in bulk during high business season without any hinderance of storage space and therefore cutting on transport cost

Loan Proposal

With this loan I will be able to buy more stock since the price has hicked from Ksh8 to Ksh15 per piece and at the same time an increase in the reselling price to Ksh23 per piece due to low availability but high demand for the same, this will increase my profit to a higher margin and make my repayment very easier since I have been facing a challenge of cash to buy them when called to do so then I will take Ksh5,000 and add to what I have and clear 2015 1st term school fees of Ksh24,000 for my 3 children to enable them have ample time at school and concentrate on their studies without being sent home for the same, this will also give me a peace of mind to concentrate on my business and job. But this can only be achieved through your help of which I know we will achieve it.
