I come from a simple family background. My parents picked tea on contracts to bring us up.All of us children are six.Myself i used to pick tea on Saturdays and school holidays together with my parents. My brothers too.I went to school and dropped out in class seven due to pregnancy.Iam now a mother of one child who is to join school the coming year.Because my education was not of high level i opted to do driving course for motorcycle. My elder brother assisted me with money to pay for the course.I cleared and two years ago i was employed as a rider. It was challenging but because of the things i have faced in life i did not give up.Customers were not confident with a female rider to start with.Iam the only female motorcycle rider at Cheserton area. After a few months i was accepted but gradual. When i saw that i now have people who are confident in my work my siblings did a small fundraiser and bought me my own motorcycle boxer one year ago.
I have a motorcycle business.I carry people and goods for a fee .The fee will depend on distance. This kind of transport business is accessible and more quick than public matatus.I am a primary school drop out and a mother .I thought its the quickest and easy for me to learn. My weekly typical costs in fuel and maintenance are KES 1,800/-.My revenue got from the fare charged to clients for ferrying them or luggage is KES 2000/= per week.
I want to buy one heavy reflector jacket .It will assist in cold weather and evening. Its also good for safety during the nights. The total cost is $19.It will enable me to work late and make more money.
