About Me

I was born and raised in siaya county then got married and moved to settle in siaya town. I happily lived with my husband and 3 children until after the general election in 2007 when our property was burnt down, husband killed then I had to ran with my children and settled in Busia Uganda as refugee. Since then life has been hell for me and my 3 children but I secured casual employment with local business whereby I earned and used the money to offset family expenses while partly was put aside to save. I later resigned and moved to siaya again and settled with my 3 children then started fish business. I sale fish to local people but my goal is to sale the fish in wholesale to hotels in siaya

My Business

SAFISAFI FISH business was started more than 5 years ago and it involves selling both fresh and fried fish to the local residents of siaya. I started the business so that I could get source of income to support my 3 children complete education because after the 2007 post election violence all our property was destroyed and my husband killed.

My goal is to expand my business and start to wholesale fish to hotels both in siaya county and other counties in Kenya. Am proud of my business as it has grown to have loyal customers and also to generate income to support my children. My biggest challenge is lack of refrigerator for storage of the fish as I buy in bulk to enjoy trade discount but sometimes the fish go bad hence loss to my business.

Loan Proposal

I intend to purchase a refrigerator for storage and preservation of my fish hence the refrigerator cost Kshs 8000 and I have Kshs 6000 thus the loan will be used to top up and I will buy a refrigerator. The refrigerator will enable me to buy more fish and also reduce spoiling hence increasing the profit. The profit will enable me to increase stock and start selling to hotels in siaya county and also ensure my 3 children have quality education to have better future.
