My name is Flora, running a business in Nairobi Kenya. I have been pushing solar lamps into to the market as a reseller. my goal is to distribute my own brand of Solar Equipments within Africa.
I have been in business for over ten years. Initially the business was based on waste management which has been shelved temporarily to allow growth in renewable energy as we await government policies on waste management to be implemented.
The Lamps are slow movers however with the introduction of garden lights, torches and street light, the business seem to be stabilizing. I have at least 5 sales representatives who are earning commission on sales. The demand is high however the cost of purchase is a limitation to supply of the demand
Plastic containers are being collected at the curb for recycling in the urban area. Use of plastic containers is wide representing more than 4 million households within the city. The demand for recycled plastic will continue to expand and new markets will develop as technologies permit the efficient segregation and reprocessing of high-purity flakes. Improved quality of flakes and pallets, environmental issues and higher prices for virgin resin will contribute to growth. This proposal is to sort capital to buy waste plastic from end users. The business will source, sort and process PET plastic as per agreed contract with the buyer who are mainly manufacturers. We will ensure that our role is perceived as a solution as we collect waste, process and sell recycled waste offering job opportunity to the community.
