About Me

I grew up in baringo and attended primary and secondary school there. I completed primary school in 1995, and lived in baringo until 1999, when I moved to Nairobi to help my mother. She owned a food kiosk in Kibera and that was when I became working small jobs in Kibera, teaching myself how to make necklaces, rings, and bags. This has now become my business and primary source of income.

My Business

I operate a small business that sells jewelry like necklaces and bracelets as well as handbags. I decided to start this business after I taught myself how to make necklaces out of recycled paper products. I knew that I was talented and that I could make a profit by starting up a small business.

The biggest challenge I face is that the customers do not realize how much work goes into making the jewelry and baskets, and do not want to pay high prices. I have overcome this by making sure that I sell my goods for a price that is acceptable for both the customer and myself.

Loan Proposal

I need a loan for purchasing the materials that I use for making my jewelry and bags. This will allow me to expand the amount of products that I sell. Additionally, I want to use part of the loan to cover the costs of renting premise. This will make my business more permanent I will be able to advance my children's education and uplift my living standards.
