My names are Wilson M.Waweru.I reside in the Eastlands of Nairobi city,Kayole estate.I come from Murang'a district,Makuyu division, born third in a family of five siblings. My parents are small scale farmers in our domestic farm.I am a mature Kenyan male citizen, married and blessed with a son (one and a half years old) and a daughter (twelve years old and in class seven) I love my family and would wish to provide and support them fully as far as basic needs are concerned.Currently,I work as a casual employee at Jomo Kenyatta Int'l Airport, and thus to make ends meet,i started a business in the transport industry.I own a three-wheeler Tuk-tuk for passenger transport in the suburbs of Kiambu district. With the proceedings,I make a living and see my daughter to school, pay rent and my utility bills. I am computer literate with several certificates in the I.T industry having completed my O-levels in 1992 at Thika High School. I am a Christian by faith and believe in the existence of divine power of God.
Part of my income source include a salary from my casual job at the Jomo Kenyatta Int’l Airport, which I supplement with my three-wheeler Tuk-Tuk for passenger transport to make ends meet. On an everage day, this business makes about a net of $10 per day, that is less driver’s pay and fuel.
Other expenses include a monthly payment of about $8,annual payments of about $70 for Insurance and about $70 for Inspection by the Police department for Traffic. Like any other machinery, wear and tear comes in gradually, tyres wear out where each will cost $47. Servicing after every mileage of five thousand kilometers will require replacing of oil filters, air cleaners, etc. After about one year,a replacement of battery may come up,body work, etc.
As an aspiring businessman,I will request financial aid from well-wishers to buy another Tuk-tuk so as to maximize and share profits in an effort to minimize losses,a concept from “economies of scale” and hopefully with time build fleet.
Passengers in a hurry will opt to use a tuk-tuk,since it’s a three-seater,it makes quick turn-arounds and several trips compared to buses, thus an ideal competitor.
THANK YOU ZIDISHA FOR MAKING ME A MEMBER.LOOKING FORWARD TO HAVING A GOOD RELATIONSHIP WITH YOU.MY TUK TUK IS ONE AND HALF YEARS OLD AND IT NEEDS TO BE REPAINTED SO THAT IT CAN APPEAL TO CUSTOMERS FROM A DISTANCE.I OPERATE IN A HIGH COST ESTATE SO CUSTOMERS CAN NEVER GET INTO AN OLD TUK TUK.HENCE THE NEED TO REPAINT IT SO THAT I DONT LOOSE THE CUSTOMERS I HAVE ALREADY AND ATTRACT NEW ONES TO MY TUK TUK BUSINESS.I WILL ALSO USE THE MONEY TO TOP UP MY SAVINGS TO DO AN ENGINE OVERHAUL SO THAT IT CAN FEEL AS GOOD AND IT WILL HAVE MORE POWER AS NEW AND GIVE MY CUSTOMERS THE BEST.CUSTOMER SERVICE IS THE KEY TO MY BUSINESS A HAPPY CUSTOMER ALWAYS COMES BACK.THANK YOU IN ADVANCE
