About Me

My name is Andrea, born in Taita Taveta county but currently working in Mombasa as a printer. I was born in the said county which is in deep rural Kenya. I went to school and after clearing with my school education, I joined my uncle in Mombasa where I was taken for short course in printing.

I later got a job as a press machine operator, a job that I did for about 7 years, I later joined forces with my friend and bought our own printing machine which we use to print all sorts of publications like flyers, brochures and business cards.

My Business

As mentioned above, my business involves printing of different types of publication. This is done in mass production. We produce documents such as receipt books, business cards and magazines in bulk.

The business generates about USD 600 per month and we use this money to cover our overheads and the remaining balance (about half of it ) for our upkeep. This amount can go up with proper marketing because the printing machine is only used to half is capacity at the moment.

Loan Proposal

My machine requires some repair work done on it and this will cost me about USD 90 since it is a minor repair. The machine is still working but it is not giving a good quality which is affecting our business.

With the repair done, I will be able to revert of high quality work that has kept me ahead of the competition for a long time. I want to maintain this competitive edge so as to keep the business orders coming.

Dear lenders, I wish to adjust my weekly payments downwards to Ksh. 200 due to low season that I am currently experiencing. I am hoping that the low season will end soon and then I resume my normal payments. Thank you.

I phoned Andrea today at 2.37pm. He says he had aimed to pay every 2 weeks the double of his weekly repayment. However, I corrected him that he is to pay upfront not past due as it reflects badly on his on time record. He has now agreed to return to the standard weekly repayments and he shall send in this sunday.

    Thanks.
