About Me

My name is Edward Gitimu, born in 1980 in Muranga – central Kenya. I was born in rural area where there was no modern infrastructure like electricity and tap water. I am married with two children. We lived a very basic life with just the bare life essentials. I did my basic education and then proceeded to university for degree course in business education.

I got a job in Mombasa where I was employed as an accountant in a food processing company. I worked there for four years when I was retrenched. It became difficult to get another job and I used money from my terminal benefits to buy a three wheeler taxi (locally called tuk tuk).

My Business

I run a taxi business. My three wheeler taxi is used to ferry people within the vast town of Mombasa. I normally charge about $1 per trip if it does not exceed 3 kilometers and I make a net profit of about $10 per day which I use to support my family and also for the vehicle maintenance.

I work for long hours since the nature of this business demands it.

Loan Proposal

Due to wear and tear, my vehicle requires constant maintenance to keep it running. I need to replace its barrel kit which will cost me around $90 with labor charges. This loan will finance half of it and the rest will come from my maintenance kitty.
Thank you for reading my proposal.

Thank you lenders for your support. I managed to buy spares for my taxi and it has been running smoothly for the last couple of months. I am sorry I delayed some payments at one point due to some sickness but fortunately I recovered and got back on track.

Dear all, I had adjusted my weekly payment to KES 500.00 but the last installment changed to a very big figure which I cannot afford to pay at once. I wish to stick to KES 500 for now since this is what I can afford to pay comfortably.

Dear lenders, I wish to reduce my weekly payment to KES 500. I was unwell for a number of weeks and that explains the gaps in my loan repayments. I am glad I am now well again but struggling to catch up with everything. Considering my state, I cannot afford to pay my previous figure but I will be comfortable paying half of it. I ask for your understanding and patience.

    Thank you.

Dear esteemed lenders, I received USD 109 and I was very grateful since I used the money to buy 3 tires for my vehicle. I am now assured of continuous business because there will be no interruptions due to worn out tires.

I take this opportunity to thank you and pray that you continue with the same spirit of helping others.
