About Me

At martin njoroge for the last six years I have been involved in poultry farming. I have animal health diploma from Mount Kenya university. So after campus I decided to get into livestock rearing business, poultry keeping to be exact. I started with 100 layers 5 years ago and currently, I have 300 layers, 500 broilers and 200 roosters. I usually produce about ten crates of eggs per day which I usually sell to some local shops iun the neighborhood. Once my broilers have attained 1.2kg, I usually slaughter them and supply them to a local hotel in town after 8weeks. My business is located in my parent’s farm in Nakuru district. Personally I plan to start rearing dairy cattles in the near future. So I plan to use the loan to enlarge my business.

My Business

Poultry keeping/farming is my main source of income; this is divided to broiler rearing and egg production. My monthly income is around 30,000 kenya shillings, I have employed one person who takes home 6000, my monthly expenses include water bill which amount to KShs 1200 and the electricity bill which amount to KShs 3000. I also pay KSHs 3000 to the County government as license fee. After doing all the deducting at the expenses am left with KSHs 16800
