About Me

My names are Ndutire Mbugua 29 years old from Kenya and i am a business studies teacher by profession. I am from a humble background but my parents strived to ensure I attained a decent education. I reside in Thika Makongeni estate-Kenya. In quest to be financially independent and self sufficient I established an eatery to supplement my tutorage income .
I seek to lay a sound financial foundation for my family and be a model entrepreneur in my community and to my students and siblings
I have always had a passion in cooking.
I used to bake some porridge and snacks for sale to earn my upkeep while still a student building on the successes i opted to transform it into a fully fledged hotel

My Business

Qoola restaurant and snack bar was established in 2013 and has grown from a walk in food place to an eatery with a sitting capacity of 10-15 per sitting, with two full time employees. Its nearness to a recreation park and a major highway bus stage has contributed immensely to it's growth.
I raised my start up capital from savings I had made over the years and borrowings from friends and relatives.
with an aim of providing clean and affordable snacks and with an objective of creating employment it has attracted and retained new customers.
It broke even within an year of operation, consistency in quality and sound customer care has been our competitive advantage at Qoola restaurant.
Money raised from the business is used in restocking, meeting recurrent costs such as salaries;rent and utility bills. The profit raised is ploughed back into business, and part is saved.I also use it to pay school fees for my siblings and foot my household expenses.

Joining the zidisha network will help in realization of both the short term and long term goals of improving the social welfare of the community and in actualizing my aspirations for self sufficiency.
