I am called Millicent Lukale, born in Keny a place called Kakamega which is located in the western part of the country, I am the firstborn in a family of five, i was raise up with my parents,I managed to do my primary education, and secondary education then I went to college, In college I did Hotel management as carrier that I loved so much but unfortunately there was no job opportunity in that specialization , this motivated me to start something that can make my earning .
having developed interest in business decided to borrow money from a friend about 20,000 Kenya shillings then i stared a small shop which which has grown to about 200,000 Kenya shillings from borrowing money and paying with high interests, but when i had about Zidisha from a friend I was so grateful because of your low interest rates this will enable me to borrow money and pay without straining and this will also help meet my financial obligations, thank you Zidisha team .
After finishing my college and finding no job opportunity , I had to start a business though i did not have the capital, but sharing the idea with a friend He opted to help by lending me 20,000 kenya shillings which enable me to buy the first stock of my shop and through the same stock I was able to get a loan from the bank , though the interest rate was high, the loan enabled me to raise enough money to refund the money I had borrowed from a friend and even pay back the loan plus the interest.
I started a small retail shop that sells food stuff e,g sugar, flour, bread, grain, and many others , my retail shop has grown from the 20,000 kenya shillings i borrowed from a friend 200,000 kenya shillings as my capital , though i have been relaying on bank loans which has the high interest rates but the business has been managing to pay back .
when i had about the Zidisha loans which has the lower interest rates I was so grateful because this will enable my business to grow and also venture into long term investments , thank you Zidisha team for choosing to assist people like us who have ideas to business but they have no access to cash.
I have a shop in kenya in the western part of the country which i have been running sometime now and the shop is doing very well, although i have been depending on loan with high interest rates and that is why when i had about zidish from a friend, i was very happy because of loan without interest rate, only registration and prepossessing fee its really good.
However i need to add stock of Rice, Maize and Sugar that can cost about 100$ , so please help me raise this money to grow my business. thank you in advance.
