About Me

My name is Lilian Wamboi am a second born of the family of six,my father was in formal employment and my mother was a farmer, she used to sell her farm produce in town and she used make life better and sometimes pay school fee for us. Iam a mother of 2 children whom i love very much and i really want to give them the best in life,

Iam a graduate from Moi university having studied Business management.i started my business of buying and selling cereals by buying maize, millet and beans from farmers in the harvesting season and selling them to friends and neighbors in my neighborhood.
i started this business to help my siblings who are still tertiary education because my parents are not as energetic as they used to be when we were young. Iam currently working on contract and do the cereals business on part time basis and as at as at now the business is seasonal because i depend on the time farmer in this area are harvesting for me to get my stock at a cheaper rate.
i would like to expand so that l may start getting the produce from other areas like busia county because we harvest at different times. i also want to open a shop so that my customers may easily access my produce , increase my stock and market my products so that l may start suppying them to schools in bulk.

My first born is 10 years and would like to be a pediatrician and my second born would like to be a pilot. i would wish to support them fully to make the desires of their heart come true.

my hobbies include swimming, reading journals, traveling, and spending time with my family it makes me feel so blessed

My Business

i do cereals business where i buy maize, beans and millets.
Maize is white corn, in kenya we grind maize to make flour which makes ugali. ugali is a staple food in kenya. Beans is another staple food which is eaten with ugali, rice or mixed with maize to make githeri its a source of protein.Millet is grinded to make flour that makes porridge and sometimes makes ugali.
The cereals are mostly food that are consumed by local community.i choose this business because everybody consumes food in their household and at the sometime l provide market to the farmers who needs money urgently and they have cereals in the store.
I believe once I receive a loan, my business will be able to grow as I would be able to add more stock to my business and I will be able to repay the loan within the promised time. I will be able to do so with the money I make from the sales of the cereals as well as the salary.
i intend to use part of the profit to help in paying school fees for my siblings and part of it to reinvest in the business.

Loan Proposal

I have been selling beans, I started with retail where i used to buy small quantities and sell in smaller units like 100g,250g,500g, 1kg and 2kgs. That where Zidisha found me but after receiving a loan from zidisha, i started selling in bags to School, during the time i was selling beans i realized that my clients use other grains like Rice, green grams and Maize which they grind to form maize flour for cooking Ugali.
With this loan i will be able to introduce the the products to my shop and i will be a one stop shop for my clients who are mainly schools.

With this loan i will buy the following

ITEM Description Quantity Unit price Amount
RICE 50kgs bag 5 $38 $190
MAIZE 90Kg bag 5 $28 $140
GREEN GRAMS 50kg bag 1 $ 85 $ 85

Total $415

I will sell the rice at $40 X 5 = profit $200
I will sell the Beans at $ 32 X 5 = profit $160
I will sell the green grams at $ 100 profit $15

i will use the profit to repay my Zidisha loan the other profits i will use to plogh back to the business, I would like one day my business to grow to be among famous businesses, I plan to create my own brand and start packaging my produce professionally into 1kgs and 2kgs packages and undergo government standardization process so that my produce would be sold in supermarket shelves.
