I am Osei Priscilla from a family of seven; my parents and four other siblings. My early childhood development Centre between (1992-1993). This offered me to acquire basic skills in communication focused on learning through play at Offinso State A Basic School.
I continued to Offinso State A primary and furthered at Junior High School (1993-2004) were I wrote the BECE and passed with flying colors. I proceeded to Armed Force Secondary Technical school from 2004 to 2007 in Kumasi, the Ashanti regional capital. I pursued courses in business ( Business management, Cost Accounting, Economics and Financial accounting) and was also appointed as the Girls Chaplain because of my good conduct. I wrote the WASSCE and passed with flying colors.
I advanced to University of Development Studies pursuing bachelor degree in Integrated Development studies specializing in Social development from 2008-2013. I also did Diploma in Customer Care and Human Resources Management at a Professional Institution. I grew up with the passion of doing business and starting up something for myself. My hobbies are reading, making friends and listening to music. From a humble background, my self-employed parents in a bid to make life for their children, have persevere and taken us through the high financially demanding education system, despite their financial constraint.
Driven by my passion and zeal to be independent and to make financial headway, I started the sale of soaps , detergents and “sobolo” drink, kind courtesy to soft loans from friends. I strategically positioned the sale of my products away from all competitors and engaged in personal deliveries to customers homes. This provided business opportunity and an opportunity to cash-in for the available market.
I am a business oriented individual and a professional teacher under the Ghana Education Service, teaching social studies and English language. I figured out that, people travel a long distance to town and nearby towns from my community just to purchase soaps, washing powder and other detergents. Again, I decided providing popcorn and “sobolo” drink to staff and students at a good price from 2015. The patronage has been very impressive, despite the meager profit initially.
My purpose is to help people in my community to cut transport cost and bring satisfaction by providing basic needs any without any stress to my customers in the community. About 30% of my gross profit is given out as commission to boost the drive of people who volunteer as distributors; whiles I reinvest the 70% that comes to me. The profit is mainly ploughed back and for housekeeping, whiles supporting some brilliant but needy students. I have started another business that is the sale of exercise books and pop-corn.
I am looking forward positively, to expand the sale of the detergent and soaps whiles providing more stationary and pastries for not only staffs and students in my school but the entire community. I would want to provide the pastries in large quantities and for functions such as weddings, funerals and other social events.
I would want to invest in many businesses as a marketer and entrepreneur by venturing into many other subsidiary businesses.
I will use the loan to buy washing powder and retail it at my village. This will help me meet the needs of my people and maximize my profit. The loan can buy a bag of washing powder which is about 100peices
