I`m Fred Omondi, 28yrs old single aged and come from a family of 3 sisters and 3 brothers. I currently stay in Nakuru with most of my brothers and sisters. I`m Salesman by profession and practice it daily. I studied sales up to Diploma level.I was employed with one corporate manufacturing company in Nakuru region but left.Currently I do business of ordering fish from Lake Victoria in Kisumu City which is 220 kilometers away from Nakuru town, fry them and sell in local estates. I started this business the moment I quit my job because I had accumulated some little funds to start the business. Earnings from my business I use in such expenses as buying the fish, transport, license, airtime, charcoal, materials for packing or wrapping the fried fish. During my free time I do read inspirational books and listening to music. I like making new friends in movies and club areas. Something unique with me is, friends do perceive me as a good player of pool table because of my height yet I have never been interested even in learning how to play a pool table,It`s fun.
My business is selling of fresh and fried fish which I co-ordinate personally in the region. Fish are basic products as they fall under food which must be consumed. People prefer eating fish as compared to red meat which has a lot of cholesterol; this has led to high demand in consumption in my estate. I supply them on daily and demand has kept increasing. The business is profitable because I buy at relatively low price and sell at a little bit high price to account for my costs. I do my best to cut costs by making contracts and partnerships with suppliers and cargo handling companies so that I get better discounts from their services and in time. The biggest risk I have alongside others is lack of storage facilities and freezing equipments which may lead to loss. Transport barriers, delays, and high cost in transportation are also matters of concern . Much of costs are captured in final sales. My monthly cost is averagely $180. Monthly revenue comes from normal sales and special orders which range at averagely $270. My monthly profit averagely is $80. I have a joint business with my brother which I can still use to settle the loan just in case otherwise.
When I get the loan I`ll invest half the money in buying the stock and the remaining half purchase a portable preservative machine which I`ll use to preserve the fresh fish from the lake. Increased stock has demand already and therefore will increase my return per day.
On the other hand, preservative machine will help me evade losses caused by environment which is a threat to my business. It will also help me keep fresh fish till the following day without getting spoil. Lenders should consider my loan request because I have tried several times to contact local banks for support unsuccessfully. My business too is booming and can reap huge returns.
I humbly request lenders through zidisha organization to consider my humble request and I promise to follow the required chains to repay consistently. I believe that everything will be positive and up to success.
