About Me

I am Rebecca Amponsah, a 29 year old lady from Berekum in the Brong Ahafo region of Ghana. Coming from a family of Five siblings with our parents being peasant farmers, it has been difficult financing my education. It was by dint of hard work and assistance from family members and acquaintances that helped me in completing my teachers training college. I am currently teaching in a rural community(Abisaase) which is a few kilometers away from Berekum. I believe that I can do other businesses so as to augment my salary to help provide my kids with the best of education and help the needy ones in my community where some people can't boast of three-square meals a day.

My Business

I'm into retail sale of eggs in my community. Berekum can boast of several poultry farms. These farms are however located in outskirts and it's quite difficult for the majority of the food vendors having access to eggs. I therefore buy these eggs from the farmers and convey them to food vendors, shops and schools who might not have time to buy directly from the farmers. I make an average sale of 80 creates a week. I need a loan to expand my shop; which was secured through the assistance of previous loans I secured from zidisha. I have two workers(one permanent and one casual) who help with the sale and conveying of eggs from the farms to the shop and subsequently to my customers. I would want a loan to purchase a tricycle to convey the eggs from the farm to my customers since the roads to some of the farms are in deplorable states. The cost of the tricycle is about 900 dollars. I will use part of my salary to augment the loan given to me by zidisha.

Loan Proposal

I have a shop that sells eggs to food vendors and some schools in my hometown. These eggs are secured from poultry farmers who normally require initial payment to feed their birds before eggs are supplied. Most farmers have different customers they supply eggs to. Moreover, eggs are scarce since we're approaching Christmas. Most farmers sell the birds off during this period. I therefore need this loan to make down payment to farmers to enable me stay in business. I'm very optimistic of making good sales since the scarcity during these moments has an effect on the price of eggs.

I have received a loan of $439. This amount will help me increase the number of crates of eggs I purchase from the farm per week. I am grateful to my lenders and the entire zidisha community.

I want to use this platform to thank my lenders for helping me secure a tricycle for my egg business. I'm able to convey my eggs to the door step of my clients and have no difficulties in conveying eggs from poultry farm.

The loanvop huh.p I secured from zidisha was added to my earning and a tricycle has been purchased. This has helped me a lot. The difficulties I faced in conveying my eggs from the poultry farms to my shop has been solved.
I'm able to make deliveries to my customers instead of them moving to the shop. Sales have improved and I'm grateful to zidisha.

I'm very grateful and happy that an amount of 1130 Ghana cedis has been credited to my account. This loan would enable me secure a tricycle to help in the convey of my eggs from the poultry farmers to my shop and subsequently to my customers. I'm highly optimistic that my business would receive a facelift due to this assistance.
