About Me

I am a 24 year old Kenyan citizen with 2 parents and 2 younger siblings. I have attended both primary and secondary schools and attained a mean grade of A- both times. I have done International Computer Driving License, Mandarin Chinese and Driving. I have worked both hard and smart to get myself into Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology to pursue a degree in BSc Civil Engineering which is considered a non- female field. I have had to go through both stigma and admiration from family and friends but that does not stop me from wanting to pursue the engineering degree. Kenya, though its developing, still faces the challenge of unemployment and females not being given an equal chance at various opportunities. This is the reason I decided to create a product that helps women, creates employment and requires no educational background to make it.
I do not have children but aspire to have a family of my own in the future.
I enjoy reading, dancing and travelling.

My Business

I make sanitary towels and tampon bags. I believe the product is essential because it creates employment for the disabled and the illiterate members of our society. It requires very little knowledge to make. Also, many women wrap their sanitary towels in paperbags or some do not wrap at all, thus this product ensures they have a bag to place their sanitary towels in. I decided to do this because I believe menses are part of a woman's private life and should not be exposed to the public. I noticed, especially from the men, that seeing the sanitary towels or tampons caused disguist. The bag is small thus it can fit in a handbag and no one can see or know its contents. My costs are labour and buying various types of cloth material for the bags. I use the profits to get more material, pay school fees for my younger siblings and to buy food for the less fortunate.

Loan Proposal

I would like to buy more sewing machines so that the quantity produces may be higher which will cost me $80. The market demand is more than the supply therefore the need to increase the machines.
With this move, I expect to branch to more Girls' Schools and NGOs and also to do more charity work in the community.
I expect over 100% profit since production costs will reduce tremendously.

I used the previous loan to buy the sewing machine. Now I do not outsource labour and do it myself. Labour was a huge expense to the business, now I can make the bags myself and at a faster rate. Thank you to my lenders who made this possible

Thank you to my lenders! I have registered my company and that is all thanks to my lenders. I really appreciate you. Registering has enabled me to sell to Girls' schools and NGOs.
I would like the next loan to be for procurring more machines so that I can increase the quantity of produce.

Thank you to my lenders. I received KShs. 4200. I am still buying new merchandise to add to my stock so that I can raise enough income for getting my business registered as a network marketing company.
Thank you again to my lenders.

Thank you for the first loan. I used it to get more material in order to increase variety.
I would like the next loan to be for registering a company so that I can do work on contract and expand the market I can access and most importantly hire more disabled people, women and in- mates.
