I'm a Public Health Officer by profession, Founder and C.E.O of Ecofirm Sanitation ([email protected]) in Western Kenya. I started Ecofirm Sanitation with about $50 of my personal savings from incentives I received during my internship as a Sanitation marketer. Ecofirm Sanitation is a social enterprise engaging local artisans and youths on WASH value business opportunities (Sustainable sanitary construction, Menstrual Hygiene Management, Household waste collection, fumigation and cleaning services), Climate Change Impact Mitigation through Vector control in households and schools. Our social responsibility is future proof, we have a school health program where our well trained team with different professional background including in Environment and Health, volunteer to routinely provide Health Education and mentorship to school going children. Health Education and mentorship program centers on Menstrual Hygiene awareness, Reproductive Health, HIV and STI prevention, Hand hygiene, Personal hygiene, food safety, Waste Management and Climate Change Impact Mitigation.

My business model, though a start up with a funding needs of about $25000 for equipment, run on profits accrued through services rendered in Fumigation and cleaning services, household waste collection and transfer to disposal sites, Menstrual waste collection from schools and treatment in Public Health facilities with sound incinerators, design and construction of sustainable sanitation systems, onsite feacal sludge exhaustion and treatment. For partnership and support, contact C.E.O at [email protected] or [email protected] or call: +254703871011. Thanks!
I'll invest the funds in my Pest and Vermin control business by Purchasing more knapsack sprayers for my youth team members.
At Ecofirm Sanitation, we are responsible for creating social impacts through Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) value chain business opportunities. The business model targets out-of-school youths and local artisans whom we train on WASH business start-ups including Pest and Vermin control to promote climate resilience among our community members against the raging effects of climate change.
Through working with us, we equip local artisans with modern techniques for building climate-resilient sanitation systems hence promoting sustainability, we capacity built local youths on Integrated Pest Management (IPM) in households, schools, and other institutions to help control and eradicate disease vectors. This model earns them a living even as it supports vector-borne disease prevention including neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) which have been exacerbated by the effects of climate change in our communities.
