About Me

My name is winfred nyawira muthoni,I was born in kirinyaga county in central kenya. We have been raised by a single mother I and my brother who is a role model to us.Through struggles of life we still made it and got the best from our mum.I attended Gathuthiini primary school, the Kiaragana Girls high school for secondary education.
Currently am pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce(Insurance) since am a holder of Diploma in Insurance am experiencing some challenges in paying my school fees even though I try hard to raise money by doing insurance underwriting and selling rice.
When pursuing my diploma I still had the fees challenge, therefore I joined Gathuthiini Hope Foundation and volunteered to be doing guidance and counseling to primary school kids. The foundation paid my fees and am very greatful to them.
The job I do in underwriting is not a consistent one so I saved a little from it and also got some funding from my mum and my brother to start the rice business so atleast to make ends meet. Am an outgoing person and during my free time I like giving back to the community so I engage myself in activities like cleaning or even walks.

My Business

I sell pishori rice, this rice is in demand since its not like the local rice when cooked it has some fragance and doesn't become lumped(mushy). I chose this kind of business since I can assess the rice easily it is grown in my home area and also at a fair price. The profits I get I reinvest in growing this business and paying my fees.

Now i have ventured into agribusiness too, to boost my income.

Loan Proposal

Dear Zidisha Team,

Am humbled to apply for loan for my college fees. I am currently up to date on my fees installments and want to stay on campus. My desire is to finish campus without any debt. I am very glad that this education i am pursuing is becoming a success.

Without this loan, I will not be able to attend school. My mother make good livings, but she just have enough to pay for necessities. Carrying the financial burden for college just isn’t in the cards for her.

I have a meager job for laundry and selling rice, but this won’t pay the costly prices of today’s education.

I know your organisation will take a chance on me which you have always done since i joined zidisha, I will do my best to ensure that everything is paid in a timely manor. It is my intent to not only take my college courses, but I want to excel in all my studies.

Sincerely,

Winnie
