I am 38 years old and married with 4 children. I am a Seamstress by professional. I attended Junior high school at Akyim Akropong in the eastern region. After that I earned my BECE certificate and went to Kumasi Sec Tech Secondary School to further my education. Due to situation beyond my control I faced financial difficulties and was not able to complete my secondary education. I decided to learn handy work and went to a seamstress shop to learn. For 3 years I gained the skills needed to be a good seamstress. In 1999 I completed my learning and now I can make all kinds of fashionable dresses.
Since 1999, thanks to the blessing of God and help from my parents I have started my own work. By God's grace with my dear husband, we are blessed with four wonderful children all of them are in school now. I feel very blessed due to my work and supportive family.
Even though I could not complete my secondary education I learnt handy work for 3 years and have my own shop since 1999. I had stopped sewing because I had to take care of my children so for now I am trading second hand clothes and ladies shoes in my business. By trading second hand clothes and shoes my business earns $500/ month. I hope to expand in the future and will seek help from Zidisha at that time. Right now, I am looking to increase more dress and shoes in my shop so that I can increase my profit. Currently by not expanding but increasing more dress and shoes in my store I can earn profit as well as take good care of my children. This is also more profitable than what I was doing first especially selling the ladies shoes and slippers. I plan for my children to have a brigther future so I have decided to invest every single-cent in my hand and my profits in the business. I pray that God will help me and that I continue to be doing business with you Zidisha.
I have gained more experience in Business and I am confident that ladies shoes and slippers move faster than dress. Right now, I am planning to purchase more shoes and slippers than dresses. I will be using around $200 to buy ladies shoes. I hope to get 80% profit from it. I will use $100 to buy ladies slippers and expect 70-80% profit from it. I will then use $50 for dresses and expect to get 60% profits in it.
I am very confident that the benefits from these goods will be huge. I am expecting about 80-90% profits. I am also doing some small investment at the bank for another project. Thank you once again for your support and kindness to us. I am counting on you. God bless you.
