About Me

Hi Lenders,
Thank you for always supporting my journey. I’m a Zidisha beneficiary seeking an 8th loan. With this money I seek to support my recently started Social Media Management consultancy. Due to the pandemic, many people especially customers have resorted to going online and making their purchases there. The challenge is that most of the entrepreneurs are yet to move their businesses online and this is due to the gap in technological skills. I have done the market research and this is a business that has the possibility to grow and even offer people jobs in the long run.

My Business

This business is going to offer social media management to entrepreneurs who are not technologically savvy. So far all the proceeds from this have gone towards setting up the business. I have so far registered the business, bought a laptop and a modem.
With the loan I will take 2 courses on how to develop systems when running an online business. If it was more, I would purchase a professional camera. With the income I would be able to expand from operating virtually only.

Loan Proposal

Ever since I moved from the city 2 years ago, back to my rural place Masii, I hoped to have a fresh start. However, the land was so degraded due to global warming and over-utilization of the land that it proved challenging to get anything started. Masii is in lower-eastern Kenya which is categorized as a Semi-arid area. We are so disadvantaged in our region due to lack of water and trees. However, there has been some revolution to rehabilitate our region by re-afforestation.
I saw this as a business opportunity since there are almost no nurseries to supply the high demand.
I seek a loan of $110 to purchase seedlings and shade-nets for my nursery.
Budget:-
1. Tree seedlings (different varieties)- $45
2. Shade-nets (@$4.5/meter) 4.5*10- $65
3. Planting papers and support beams -$25
4 Water for the Nursery- $25
TOTAL COST= $ 160
I have already been able to raise $50 for water, planting papers and beams. The above budget is for the whole program. With the $110 I can easily expand my small nursery and have the ability to supply big orders when needed.
With this venture I hope to get enough money to expand my business and therefore be able to sustain myself and my family.

With my previous loan I took a risk and started on an online platform. I feel that with some courses, I can easily automate my business and run an effective business. I have been able to get 5 steady clients per month.
    Thank You Zidisha
