About Me

I am Gladys Iramwenya, I am the 2nd born in a family of 7, having been born in 1978 in a rural farming village of Mago in Vihiga County. My parents were peasant farmers.
I went through my childhood education with a lot of difficulty as I had to help my parents in the farm most of the time instead of concentrating in school. I did my grade 8 in 1996 and did not continue with my high education due to lack of school fee.
I got married in the year 2000. My husband was unemployed and we had to do menial jobs to help meet household needs on a daily basis. This economic hardship led me to start a small business to be able to earn a living.

I love helping orphans because my life I grew up as an orphan. Despite all the hardship I went through, I am able to lend a hand and support the poor through proceeds from my small business.

I am now paying high school fee for my three siblings and I am able to meet my living costs though the business has not reached break even point.

My Business

I am operating a small fresh food & eatery joint. I have been in this business for more than three years now. I mainly make tea, deep fried buns (mandazis), french fries and sell to the local workers in cottage industries around Mbita town. I also cook fish , vegetable and beef. The business is doing very well and I earn a good money on a daily basis. If I am offered this loan I will use it to buy more food items for sale. With a good stock of fresh fruits, I will attract more customers that will in turn serve to increase income.

I look forward to expanding my business to enable me raise more funds to support my family. This is where I get my daily bread and hope with good capital I will expand the business and attract more clients that will make me to break even..

Loan Proposal

A loan of KES 36,1024 will enable me buy various food stuffs like; water, oranges, mangoes, paw paw for sale to clients on a daily basis. I look forward to increasing my profit on a daily basis by 40% and be able to repay the loan on time using the increased income from my business. Let me take this earliest opportunity to thank ZIDISHA members for their trust and interest free loans that have enabled me to grow my business and get money to pay school fee for my 2 children in High School.
