About Me

l name is Dorcas Bonsu from Cape-coast in the central region of Ghana. My parents are both from Ghana. They live and work in Cape-coast. My father is a fisherman and my mother is a farmer. My parents have six kids and i am the second child. I started my education at Holy Trinity Preparatory school and then to Holy Child Senior High School Cape-coast where i sat and excelled in all my papers in the WASSCE. After my senior high school education, I decided to enter the nursing training college and admission fees into the nursing training college in Ghana is very expensive. This prompt me to start some business to support my parents in realising this goal. I made my idea known to my parents and they supported me to start by offering me money. I realised that selling slippers and watches in my community was an excellent idea so I quickly got my first goods and started the business. This business has really helped me and am still doing it in the nursing training school to generate money to finance myself.
I am a disciplined and an industrious student entrepreneur whose aim is to delve into private business after school to contribute my quota to the socio-economic development of my country and be an employer not an employee and this my business aim has been with me since childhood. In order to be an employer one has to put in place innovative ideas and strategies in place to make the dream achievable and as a result of this i have started compus business of selling wrist watches and slippers to student at low cost to generate revenue and because the items are priced moderately, all students irrespective of their financial standings can buy.

My Business

I sell watches, towels, sponges and slippers to my colleague students at generally affordable prices. students from all financial background /status could afford since the prices are cheap compared to the prices of other dealers. Because of the low nature of the prices, students come in to buy my products and this has increased my revenue substantially but i can still not meet their demand since most students are in need of my items. I chose to sell these items because its revenue generating ability is high and i get enough dividend to finance my college education. The demand for these goods are on the high and it quite gives me much money for my educational expenses. When the loan is granted, it will help me to expand the business and procure more goods to increase my earnings in every week.

Loan Proposal

The loan would be put into good use by purchasing more slippers and other goods to sell and generate enough revenue to repay the loan and also get more money to cater for my nursing training fees and my clinical expenses. I need about 510 dollars to secure most of the items to sell and get money to repay the loan. I also have the backing of my parents to do this business and they are willing to help me when the need be. Thank you.
