About Me

This is the clinical officer who was disturbed about waiting for the employer to " do something" at the end of the month. This could take quite a long time leading to inconveniences with debts and rent payment other bills not withstanding. I started with what looked like a joke, a single tin of groundnuts that i fried and sold for almost a week. I was stunned to find out that i realised double profit. That is how i started the business of groundnut hawking.
I had a challanged childhood since the death of my father when I was only a small boy in standard one. With my mother a widow I had to learn the hard way and use any opportunity to start and grow in life. I schooled through bursaries and well wishers from primary to college level. After graduation I thought problems were over but I was wrong owing to 5he state of unemployment in Kenya. Having waited for the government to employ in vain and tired of working for people I decided to venture in this business. The people around see hawking as a job of the un or less educated and so the opportunity belongs to the few educated who are business minded. I am uniquely in friendship with the less fortunate and sometimes i work as their advisor.
I can confidently say that small and humble beginnings can grow into huge enterprises that employ numerous people. It is lovely to watch yourself grow.....

My Business

From the small amount of money derrived from locum, I managed to buy a single tin of groundnuts that I hawk. The businessof this kind is good and easy to start, apart from the fact that people enjoy groundnuts. The cost of starting and maintaining is not that much high. The profit realised inthis business has fed, clothed and cared for my family. Above all the growth of the business depends on its profit. Typically, for a sustainable groundnut hawking to stand, it is advisable to have three times the daily purchases so that you dont go for daily purchase hence reducing cost of transport.

Loan Proposal

I have since been a hawker. With this loan, I will be able to shift from hawking to stationed grains store. Rent for the store will cost 4000 kenya shillings, purchases will cost 25000 kenya shillings for a start. Maize 5000/=, beans 8000/=, groundnuts 8000/= green grams 4000/=. The business will reduce the distance people travel for these commodities and also with sustained growth it will be an employment avenue for oneor two members of the community. I will as a person be saved from walkingand talking alot to convince customers. My profit will also grow drastically. By high prcentages ranging from 40 to 50 will mark a spurt of growth.
