About Me

My name is David Kimani kariuki, a Kenyan male born in 1982. I am the second born in a family of five . I was brought up in Kawangware in Dagorreti constituency Nairobi county. I schooled at Loresho primary school up to class six when we relocated to Githurai 45 after the death of my Father. I completed primary school at Githurai Kimbo and proceeded to Gitare secondary school in Gatundu for my O- level education. I am a talented fine artist, painter, graphic designer and interior designer/decorator. I am now married and have to children. After school I ventured into green grocer business in Githurai market a business I carried for approximately 3 years before venturing into my current milk business where i own a milk bar in Githurai 45.

My Business

I operate a milk bar in Githurai 45where I merchandise fresh ready to drink milk and fresh raw for customers who do take away to cook at home. I get the supply direct from farmers at Gatundu. My customer base is the population of Githurai Estate which is one of the highly populated Estate in Nairobi. This provides a ready market and also a potential for expansion through opening other branches. currently I am selling an average of 300 litres per day. my target is to sell average of 800 litres daily by the end of 2014. With the sale of 300 litres daily I make a profit of ksh18,000( Us Dollars 215) monthly. I have created good relationship with my customers who proudly refer other customers to me.This is a sign of growth in the coming months. The major challenge in my business is the cooling system to keep the milk fresh which I believe with Zidisha It will be sorted out.

Loan Proposal

I intend to add clothes in my shoe business due to public demand of my customers who have been buying shoes. Many of my customers have been asking for children clothing's and ladies wear which has brought this idea of mixing it with my shoe business. With a capital of 199$, its possible to purchase this clothes at a cheaper price since i have even searched for the place where i will be getting them. The business will change my life because i target to get 25$ profit a day through the clothes. My customers will also benefit from the business since they will get the shoes plus the clothes under one roof saving then time and extra costs of traveling elsewhere to look for the clothes.through the profits i will get from the shoe and clothes business, i will be able to pay my loan on time and will also continue adding more stock to it thus continuing to add more profits.I will be able grateful for my lenders when they lend me the money because i have experienced the change and benefits earlier and if it wasn't for them i would be how i was before without help.I look forward into co-operating with my lenders.Thank-you.
