About Me

Am a hardworking, innovative young man. I schooled through hardship where my parents could not maintain paying school fees. My mother had to make chapatis to subsidize the meager salary from govt. At the age of 12, an uncle gave my mother his fridge for safe keeping. My mum took advantage and taught me how to make flavored ice sticks which i could take to the market on Sundays and sell. At the end of the sales, i could bring home some 50 kshs which afforded dinner. This inspired me and cultivated my career as a businessman. At secondary school I sold eggs to subsidize the kitchen budget and my pocket money, hence mum could concentrate her efforts on school fees. I managed to go through college where i did odd jobs at my free time to boost my fees. After college, there was no employment so i had to be innovative, thus the idea of a cyber cafe was born. I could earn money from getting casual jobs and use the money to purchase equipments one at a time. I bought, a Monitor, later on bought a CPU, then finally a printer, i got a loan from a relative and built a stall where i established the computer services bureau in the year 2008 January, worked hard and bought another computer in May 2008, and a photocopier in October 2008.

My Business

My business in a service business in the printing industry. I offer typing, printing, photocopy, internet and photography services. I draw clients from the environs of my premises and far away since i have learned the customers needs. I strive to satisfy my customers hence av managed to be consistent for the last 9 years. My clients are the churches and hotels nearby who do bulk printing and copies for seminars and monthly consumption, schools that do a lot of exam typing , printing and copying, individuals who work for organizations that have a lot of community field work and bring their reports for typing, printing and copies or posting on the internet in the evening when other cybers have closed since i work till late and their field work ends in the evening. There are also Universities and colleges around my business whose students require copies of handouts, project report typing, printing and binding. I also sell sodas and snacks, do passport photos, T-shirt printing, and Banners.
My business has managed to, settle medical bills during delivery of my children, and it has sustained my family while expanding. it started with one computer and one small 3 in 1 printer, which have generated more computers and a photocopier, stable internet connection with WIFI for customers. It established an eatery/cold drink cafe, with WIFI connection. I intend to buy a bigger digital color printer by the end of this year to print campaign materials for aspirants in the coming 2017 general elections.

Loan Proposal

I am currently expanding my shop to accommodate bigger printers, thus part of the loan say Kshs. 15,000 would purchase materials for expansion and the remaining would go to pay a down payment for a bigger color printer of which as agreed with the supplier can be paid in 3 months. The printer is Kshs. 72,000, hence the deposit would be the remaining Kshs. 24,000 from the loan. The balance of Kshs. 48,000 would therefore be paid twice. This expansion and purchase of the printer would enable me serve more customers with bulk printing and subsequently increase my income. Am also planning to employ one person to be handling the printing job.
