About Me

am 29 years old turning 30 by the end of this year. Married and blessed with a baby girl 4 years old. i have done diploma in business management bur i have not been able to get a gud job. Currently am employed by Styles Industries formerly known as Darling. i work there as a driver, bur at the same time am starting my own business which am marketing right now. i started a company called Verdant limited. its due to luck of capital thats why it hasnt picked up yet but with time it will pick i believe so.

My Business

Being employed and earning a salary of 14,000/= doesnt really do anything here in Nairobi. With my business i will be able to offer to companies or institutions with services like Cleaning of offices, supply of office stationery, property management & letting agents, supply of perishable goods and cereals, supply of building materials and etc. It all starts with baby steps then after sometimes you find yourself doing very well if you are determined. Am really working so hard to see this grow to something big.

Loan Proposal

Since i got a new tender contract with a local firm here to supply them with office stationery which my new company is capable of doing, i intend to use the cash to purchase the items then i distribute to the firm. The firm offered me a trial supply that will determine if am capable of keeping the job or not. This caught me off-guard because i had no any cash with me, and am supposed to start supplying the goods by next month which is just around the corner.
i would have even requested for my repayments to be made twice a month instead of every week as per your rules. This will ease the hustling and struggle to pay on time. My company is still very new since it was registered last year on 26th july 2013. It has been not operational because the proccess of attaining some certificates took me so long bur thank God because am now ready to hit the market.

I take this moment to thank you people for the loan I took from you. The project I invested in is doing great, though am sorry I couldn't take any picture due to its progress. It was meant for sugar cane growing n i have just managed to plug the land, bought the seed and now just waiting the planting section. Till it grows like after 4 months that's wen i will start updating you with pictures attached. But all in all, thanKS so much for the support. And another thing, am happy this time I have been panctual on repayment schedule. I have been on time since the day my loan was disbursed , that makes me feel like now my lenders can trust me. I appreciate guys, God bless you all

I hereby thank everyone who was involved in my last loan participation for the efforts they showed.
I must admit that things never worked out as I wished they could but at least I managed to establish my business and I did too manage to built a business platform which am hoping will be a breakthrough very soon. Am intending to expand the business name by trying something else in agriculture which will be a long term investment.
all in all I thank you people for your great help in all ways

Dear lenders, thanks so much for everything you are doing not just to me bur to all the zidisha family. I know you may not like how my repayment is being made but I can assure you that am trying so hard to make things work out well. Just disappointed a bit coz some of my plans failed, but that doesn't mean I should also fail to repay my loan. I might fail to repay on a weekly basis, but one thing for sure at the end of the month I must make my payment.
Life has so many ups n downs, n we all have gone through them or we are facing them. You guys helped me in particular when I really needed your help, so there is no any need for me not to fulfill my commitment.
Thanx to zidisha, Haroun n Paul my mentor coz they always keep me in check

    Dear Lenders,
I have communicated with Mr. Douglas reminding him to repay his loan and if his not in a position to repay at that moment, he should reschedule and inform you the reason, and consistently communicate with you.
    Thanks for your continued support

Paul, thanx for the support and sorry for the disappointments I have caused you guy including my good lenders (zidisha). Sometimes things doesn't work out as we intended bur there's always a way out if you try so hard. My plans backfired and I had no choice bur just to wait until my salary comes in every month so that I can repay the loan. But guys, am working so hard n am so committed to repaying my loan even if it means doing so at every end of the month.

Due to few changes here n there and the challenges in this error, i hereby propose to be paying the Ksh 500 weekly just to make sure i don't skip any week without paying so that i can keep a track on my schedules. But when things move, will come back to the normal Kshs 1,500/= weekly starting next week. Am even ashamed to discuss this with you guys, but i have no option. Sometimes things doesn't work out as you expected, but that doesn't keep you down. Its time i have to raise my head up and do what am supposed to do.Remember the 500 is just for 4 weeks then i go back to normal

Guys i know how i have failed you but am doing everything to make it work. My client failed to pay for the services we offered them on time, now am having problems keeping my promise on track. But am working so hard to start repaying for the loan as soon as possible. If you can give me some 3 more weeks i can clear the loan at one or pay u 3/4 of the loan since i have been promised to receive my payments after 3 weeks from this friday 21st feb 2014.

      Hello Douglas,
it's worrying that they try making you wait 3 weeks (before you know whether they will keep their word this time); are you supplying them meanwhile?

As for the loan, remember it's always to pay something rather than nothing, maybe 1,000, or 500 shillings. It doesn't have to be on a specific date either; I think the 5% admin. fee you're paying Zidisha covers all payments, no matter how small, or often.

      Hang in there!
      Mårten

I wish to appologise for my late response to this, i failed to pay my debt on time due to late payment by my employer. i wish to request that the first loan should be rescheduled to next week and from there i will be paying on monthly basis of Kshs 5000 per month. Sorry for inconvenience caused but i promise not to fail you
