I am PAUL KIAMA KAMUNGE ,I am single, I only did my form four examination as my highest level of education , ,since to be employed become a problem due to competition of jobs, I decided to venture into business, I live in Shabab Miracle supermarket in Nakuru county . I stay in a rental house where I pay house, water and electricity bill of $ 58.82 US dollars.
I started business in 2012 after being a salesperson in Nairobi where I was employed after having done my form four examination, since I have a singe parent (Mother) there wasn't enough money for me to continue with my Education since we had a small brother who was behind me in secondary school and we had to support him, but I had a passion of becoming a businessman and by doing so it has greatly assisted not only me but my family at large and my clients. I have a Salon where I have also started selling new clothes.
,The first loan I received it greatly assisted me much I added enough stock to my business which assisted me to pay back my loan and I remained with the business running .By doing so I have been in business though it has taken a long to grow as well as to change to another step is just stagnant.
And therefore I started to seek any source of capital to boost my business especially in this year because I believe with my own business I will also assist other through creating source of employment. God was very faithful to me and I got the information about Zidisha and how it has really helped many people to grow businesswise and also education loan.
My business name is Lurry Salon is Located Rhonda area next to miracle supermarket. box 14387-20100 Nakuru TELEPHONE NUMBER 0717759791.It is sole proprietorship,It was established IN 2012
It is licensed under single business permit under the municipal council of Nakuru.
My business deals with pedicure, manicure, blow dry and dry settings more so selling of rasters, more recent I started selling new clothes which I have been buying in Nairobi and they have also boosted my Salon shop especially in the Christmas season.
Most of my customers prefer my business because of the services that are offered and as well the costs are standard depending on goods, quality and quantity products that I have comparing to other competitors and also availability of goods without lack, they vary from lower class to higher class ,though there is more competitors it depends on how first I can deliver the services to them as well as quality goods The site where I am located there is no more competitors hence my services to my clients are good, first and reliable all the time, though you can here some complains but not more since there is no perfect person.
My business is profitable for one I do understand very well the business since is the only business I have been doing. so I have old clients. The workers are qualified on the side of salon styles and new fashions. Hence more customers.
I have a financial risk since I started my business with small capital which make me to grow very slowly and loose some clients by not meeting all their needs due to unavailability of more equipments hence servicing less customers , they have run into unpredictable performance eg manufacturing problem(poor quality of products ) also operation risk,. Also the major challenge that I face is from the clients since some tend to take goods on credit and they delay to pay which hinder me from expanding.
I do meet my smoothly needs in terms of paying house rent, labour and other small work expenses,If I get $ 1765 US dollars I will add more stock and buy variety of goods as to deliver a first quality goods as my clients need, as well as adding value to my work. My business will grow first to a different level and also will be able to go back to school and fulfill my desire of becoming an IT expert.
Since I have a salon with more clients, I will add equipment which are more efficient in order to attract more clients whereby with modern equipments the work will be more easy and save time hence serving more clients.
I will also take part of the loan to fund my clothes business(new clothes) and increase the goods that has the demand in our area.
With this I will be able to pay my loan and remain with my business running which will not only help my family but even others since I will have to employ the works.
