My name is Roosevelt Cobbina and I hail from Wamfie in the Brong Ahafo region of Ghana. I currently reside in Sunyani after several attempts in settling at other big cities in Ghana. We are five siblings in all and I happens to be the Eldest.
After my secondary education, I had to start working in order to help my other young siblings to get educated. I decided to learn the repair of gas stoves and the manufacture of locally made ovens. This took me to apprenticeship for two years in Accra.
I am into the repair and servicing of gas cookers, gas stoves, gas ovens and the manufacture of locally made gas ovens. I purchase spare-parts of cookers, stoves and ovens to repair the damage appliances of my clients. My business has brought smiles to a lot of homes especially when it has to do with the advice on the use and handling LPG( Liquefy Petroleum Gas) in the home.
The habit of cooking is part and parcel of society and the use of LPG is the cheapest way of cooking in the country all things being equal. As a result of this, the breakdown of these cooking appliances occur frequently. My clients cut across all spectrum of society; the low, the middle and the high classes.
Depending on the level of damage, a repair and service of gas cooker gas/gas stove ranges between GH 50.00 to Gh400.00.
I spend my profits on fending for my family, paying the school fees of my two children and reinvesting into growing the business.
I which to apply for a loan to buy spare-parts to improve my Gas cooker, stove and oven shop. I need valves, burners and fibres. There are domestic cooker valves, basma valves and industrial valves. Domestic valves (20 pieces) = $100, basma valves (20 pieces)=$50, burners(20 pieces )=70, fibres (4 sets)= $200. These comes to a total of $420.00. And the more I purchase the raw material, the more profit I will get.
This loan will go a long way to increase my profit margin to about 40 per cent. With the help of the loan I will be able to pay the fees of my children and provide for my family.
