About Me

My name is Peter Muthui. I hail from a place called Limuru, Central Kenya. This place has a good climate for agriculture and farming is our livelihood. During my childhood, I recall accompanying my parents to work in the farm and looking after our livestock. It was fun grazing the animals and taking them to the river to drink water. I started school at Manguo primary and later Ngenia High School. My Education life was marred with financial difficulties. I was sent many a times to fetch school fees but God saw me through my education.

My Business

After school, I borrowed money from a Sacco that I had joined and bought a second hand Motorcycle. I used the Motorcycle to as a Taxi to ferry people around and out of limuru town. These Motorcycle that are used as Taxis are commonly referred to as Boda Bodas and their services are in high demand since they can move to any place and are not affected by traffic jams. I came to like this business since I learnt to ride motorcycles at an early age when I was in secondary school and also due to the availability of Motorcycles at a cheaper price and they are easy to service and maintain. In a day, I make up to 7 dollars amounting to 210 dollars per month. I use part of these money to pay for my house rent and to pay for my children's school fees. I also use part of this money to service my Motorcycle to be in good condition for my business.

Loan Proposal

I wish to start a business of fetching and distributing milk in my local town using my motorcycle. I have decided to engage in the business after seeing how milk is in high demand. This has created a shortage since most farmers are far from the market. I hope to fill this gap by going to buy milk from farmers and bringing it to the market. I intend to buy two 50 litres milking can in which to be carrying the milk in. One Milking can is costing 85 dollars and hence two will require 170 dollars. The Milking cans will help to carry as much milk as possible. I will employ someone to be selling the milk while am away looking for milk. In this way, I hope to continue improving my living standards and also create a job opportunity to the person who will be selling the milk. I also hope to be buying milk from farmers at a lower price than the market and make a small profit. I expect my profit to increase to 30 dollars in a day which will enable me to take care of the expenses of running the business as well as financing my loan from Zidisha. I kindly request Zidisha to please fund my loan and enable my dream come true. Thank you.
