About Me

My name is Jane Nyongesa I am a firstborn in family of six siblings .I live in Kitale town, Trans nzoia county Rift valley region. I come from a poor background being brought up in a polygamous family my father having married two wives and depended on a small portion of land for provision. This forced my mother to start a charcoal selling business to the nearby shopping centre to provide for our school fees since my father could not provide for the two families. My school life was very hard but through small savings, my mother made from her business of selling charcoal and well-wishers I completed primary and later high school.
My parents could not pay for my college since my younger siblings were still in school. I therefore joined my mum in the charcoal selling business and I would deliver the charcoal to client’s houses. By God’s grace I got a government bursary and joined college .In College I studied catering because I loved cooking very much.
When I graduated from college, I decided to start a small cafeteria located at the Kitale town central business district (CBD) The reason I started the business is to earn a living support my mother pay fees for my younger siblings and invest further. I am aiming in opening another restaurant in the town, which will help me double the current inco
During free time i love socializing, swimming, reading, traveling, and volunteering to help the disadvantaged

My Business

My cafeteria business is located in Kitale town CBD whereby many people come to transact their business those people are my potential customers since they use my cafeteria as a meeting point and when hungry buy food and drinks and therefore I make high profits.
I chose this business since it was in the area of my profession and hence i enjoy doing it very much and i offer best quality making my client very happy.
I raised around $320 profit per month which i use in paying rent ,other bills ,pay school fees for my younger siblings and invest further.
I started this business through the help of my mother who gave me some money she had saved.. I have expanded it through the profits gained.
There is a college opposite my restaurant and since the schools have opened, my business is doing very well.

Thank you Zidisha and all my lenders for your support.Of late business has not been good in Kitale town due to relocation of matatus(buses) from town since they are renovating (expanding) the bus stage to accomodate the increasing number of buses, taxi and bodabodas (motorkikes).
Due to this reason i am adjusting my repayment to ksh.300/=(Three hundred) which i will be able to pay without strain and be able to pay my monthly bill at the same time.
    Thank you in advance.

Thank you lenders and zidisha community for the loan it has made a difference in my business. This season is a low season for me because the schools have closed and students are my main customers plus Kitale town have had some changes in that the bus stop has been moved from CBD. I am planning on rellocating the business to a more ideal location. With this reduced amount i will be able to pay my loan on time and pay my bills too.
Thank you once more and sorry for the inconveniences.
