About Me

I come from a small family where my parents have brought me up well. I was born in the same village where I live today. I attended school up to Form 4 but couldn't afford to go further due to financial constraints.

I was employed in a nearby school as an untrained teacher with a meager salary of 25 US Dollars per month. After I gathered 500 US Dollars, I started a small business. As business picked up, I got married and later, was blessed with two kids. From the earnings of this business, I am able to cater for my family and partially support my aged parents. My first born is a boy, who will join class one next year. The way he tells their teachers how he will undertake extra classes inspires me to regain my hope of education for him as well as for myself. Sometimes, he sees me cycling a motorcycle and tells me that will be a pilot.

During my free time, I like reading inspirational books and also paying visits to nearby orphans.

My Business

My business is a general shop where I sell foodstuff including both consumable and non-consumable good. For example, I sell maize floor, sugar, cooking fat, cereals (maize and beans), umbrellas, shoes, padlocks, and so on. I like this kind of trade since most commodities are basic and compulsory to human beings for they cannot evade feeding. It is locally known as Babu Shop. I usually get substantial profit although it depends on seasons. My business has survived for six years and I am always optimistic that it will continue growing. There is competition but my customers like my shop because of standard price, availability of different commodities and good service. I also give some discounts . During promising seasons which are most, I even make a profit of 50 US Dollars per week which adds up to over 200 US dollars per month. From these earnings, I am able to keep good the life standard of my family and investing around with some little amount for the better future.

Loan Proposal

I wish to introduce some wholesale commodities in my general shop ,I will buy the following commodities....
1.) 15 bags of Rice each at 20US dollars ,the 15 bags to cost me 300US dollars.
2.)10 bags of Sugar each at 40US dollars, the 10 bags to cost me 400 US dollars.
3.)15 Cartons of cooking fat each at 10US dollars, the 15 cartons to cost 150 US dollars.
4.)20 Bales of Wheat Flour each at 15US dollars, the 20 bales to cost me 300 US dollars. All the four combined commodities will cost me 1150 US Dollars, which am requesting from my well wishers in Zidisha.I wish to bring these commodities to enable the nearby small shops to buy from near and cut the cost down and hassles to them of buying them from Town.I believe the sale of them my profit will increase from 600 US dollars to 800 US dollars in a month. I intend to be investing my profit in constructing some more rental houses since their income are guaranteed and promising. Thanks in advance Zidisha.
