Loan Proposal

Starting KF&F Clothing comes with the benefits of providing customers with a variety of suits and other accessories for
their corporate image. However, opening KF&F also comes with several industry-wide risks. Some of these risks include
 Inventory Management: Customers like a variety of merchandise to choose from, e.g, suits of different colors and
design styles, as a result, the store must have adequate supply of clothing at hand. Failure to purchase enough
inventory, results in disgruntled customers and lost sales. On the other hand, purchasing too much inventory may
result in incurring steep losses by selling the excess clothing at discount prices. To manage this risk, KF&F will
employ the Just-In-Time method of inventory level management. This means that there will be a determined
maximum level of inventory, minimum level of inventory and a re-order level. Adhering to this will ensure that at all
times there will be an adequate amount of clothing and orders are placed before inventory reaches its minimum
level.
 Trend Analysis: The fashion industry is ever evolving in today’s world. Inadequate trend assessment could be risky
as this may result in excessive inventory, undermined credibility and confused brand identity of the store. To
prevent this, KF&F will ensure that it remains abreast of latest trends concerning corporate wears in the fashion
industry and recognizing when such trends are on the decline.
 Credit Control: Inadequate credit control can destroy a business. KF&F will not allow credit to customers who come
into the store to buy. On the other hand, customers whom we serve at their homes or offices would be allowed
credit. However, 50% would have to be paid at the time of sale and the rest is to be remitted within 30 days.
 Business Landscape: The nature of the clothing industry as a whole poses significant risks to business owners.
Cutthroat competition is a large risk that cannot be prevented but can be managed. As a result of Samuel Morgan’s
knowledge of good supply networks, high quality merchandise will be provided for sale but for a lesser price than
competitors.
5.5 Competitive Edge
KF&F’s competitive edge is that it will be providing high quality merchandise will be provided for sale but for a lesser price
than competitors. This is as a result of Samuel Morgan’s knowledge about good supply networks.

KF&F’s marketing and sales strategy will utilize networking, referrals and direct sales to develop visibility for the company.
Prospective customers will be turned into qualified sales through a distribution of fliers and the service of the company’s
marketers.
5.1 Marketing Strategy
As noted previously in the target market segment strategy, KF&F will rely on three activities in their marketing efforts.
These include:
 Networking: leveraging relationships to build more relationships within Accra’s relatively intimate community.
 Client referral: by providing outstanding customer attention, current customers are more likely to become a long-term
customer and are more likely to refer their friends.
 Target Customer Acquisition: the first step of this process is to target who the ideal customer is, determine how KF&F can
offer them value, then the company’s marketers will personally advertise the merchandise to them and convince them to
buy.

5.1.1 Pricing Strategy
KF&F Clothing will maintain a flexible pricing strategy. However, there will be a price range within which flexibility will be
allowed. We base the product lines that we carry on their reputation and quality as corporate apparel. We will also take
into consideration the average price of our wears in the market.
5.1.2 Promotion Strategy
KF&F will follow an aggressive yet creative promotional plan. This will allow us to focus directly on our target customer
while still being conservative with our advertising budget.
5.1.3 Distribution Strategy
Our retail location will be the foundation of building our customer base. We will also manage a direct mail program that
will focus on our top 50% customers spotlighting any in-house sales and promotions. For those who may not have the
time to come to shop at the store, home/office delivery service will be made available for them.
5.1.4 Marketing Programs
Our marketing programs will consist of the distribution of 1000 color flyers prior to the opening of the store
5.2 Sales Strategy
 We will utilize database software with every sales transaction. With each purchase at the software will record and
maintain in its database the customer's name, address and purchases. This information will be used with our direct
mailing program to focus on our top 50% of customers.
 We will offer a 48hour return/exchange policy to build trust with our customers and maintain retention and loyalty.
 The company’s marketers will be involved in direct sales in order to reach those customers who may be too busy at work
to go shopping.
 Credit will not be allowed to the customers who come to the store to purchase. On the other hand, credit facility will be
allowed to customers the company’s marketers serve at their home or office. However, they will have to pay 50% at the
point of sale and the remaining to be settled within 30 days.
